Good ones, Sailor! Especially love the one on frightening the new generation. Would love to see that one played out!

Here's another one: I pointed to an old fashioned portable typewriter to a HS kid. " This is what we used to type on". His comment: " a little big for texting, isn't it"
True story.

I repaired typewriters for over 30 years, all brands and models.
At a classroom in a small rural town the typing teacher remarked about one typewriter. She said you have to work on that typewriter every time you come here. I said I've noticed that. She said I think the problem is that the girl who uses it is always just 'A hunt'n Pecker".
I couldn't laugh and just thought to myself, that's probably caused problems for a lot of would be secretaries.

I'll have to print the motorcycle poster. I can't count the number of times people have made a left turn coming from the opposite direction, right in front of me. They see you but they don't see you. I've even added a flickering headlight and they still don't notice you until it is almost too late. So far I have avoided accidents after 50 years of riding but my reactions aren't as good as they used to be.

I got hit by a pickup who made a right turn while I was riding a bicycle crossing the street with a green and walk light. They said it was my fault because I was riding the bike instead of walking it. Spent 4 days i the hospital.

Walking it across? Were you in the crosswalk? Or riding to the right alongside of the curb? Did the driver signal and you didn't yield to his turn, passing him on the right? Were you riding against the direction of traffic? Or were you crossing through an intersection perpendicular to the street he was exiting when he was making a right turn onto the same street you were on?

You are obligated to follow the laws of the road like everyone else operating a vehicle. The other vehicle is also obligated to share the road with bicycles.

I had a friend who was issued a speeding ticket while on his bicycle. This was 40 years ago. He was doing 45 in a 25 zone. He gave his driver's license as ID. Big Mistake! That's why he received the ticket. He might have been able to avoid it if he hadn't produced a DL.

I was riding in the crosswalk. It is a wide busy street and I walk slow so I rode the bike.

Still, no reason for him to hit you and make you at fault. He ran into you, not the other way around. Now we even need dash cams on bicycles.

You forgot one about the new generation. Give them a brand new car to drive. With a straight shift.
