Why should we help Turkey against Russia? They both are trying to take over Syria. I haven’t heard of Russia trying to k**l all the Kurds. Erdogan is just like Putin.

Turkey is a NATO ally, an attack on Turkey is treated the same as if it is an attack on the US.

I agree, Putin and Erdogen are setting up Trump to lose in December, it's not that they particularly want whoever the Democrats might come up with, but who ever it is will be much less confrontational, except for Hillary which is why Putin wanted Trump, Hillary is seen as a nutter by Russia and me too.

The Trump team, - I think - is saying that the trade war and the weaponizing of the USD is necessary as the only way to check Chinese economic dominance.

I'm not so sure what Trump is doing will work economically, certainly it definitely WON'T for Australia, but going int to Syria would be a disaster and make things much worse.

Thanks for your comment.

Technically article 5 of the NATO Manifesto is a guarantee of support if one NATO member is attacked.

That is vastly different to stating that if a NATO member invades another Country all NATO members are obliged to support that invasion.

NATO is under no obligation to save Turkey if Russia destroys its military in Syria, it probably was a Russian air strike that k**led the 33 Turkish Soldiers.

We do the Turkey thing at Christmas time, don't call it Thanksgiving, I always wait till a bit later on and get mine at half price when the supermarkets are getting rid of their excess stock.
