I do believe you, but I am more optimistic. God has relented every time he promised ultimate destruction by the prayers of his faithful. Remember Abraham's bargaining for Sodom? Noah? Jonah? And there is absolutely no "to as good as human govt gets." All governments, of any sort, big or small, are an affront to God.
