A group of researchers in northern Israel said Thursday they had achieved a “scientific breakthrough” in treating c****av***s. At a press conference, researchers of the Migal Galilee Research Institute said that the breakthrough had come while they were doing research on c****av***s in birds. A treatment had been discovered which cured the birds infected with c****av***s, and clinical trials at Israel’s Volcani Agricultural Research Institute had confirmed the treatment’s viability.
The basic c****av***s in birds is very similar in patterns of infection and effect of the v***s in humans, and the genetic structure of the v***s in both humans and birds is very similar, the researchers said. As a result, the treatment developed for birds could be applicable to humans – and they believed that an effective treatment could be developed for humans within three months, they said.
David Zigdon, Chief Operating Officer of the Institute, said that “there is a great need for an immediate solution to human infection of c****av***s, and we have been working to do that nonstop. The solution we are developing against C****-** v***s has proven effective, and we believe a version for human treatment can be ready within eight to 10 weeks. That would be followed by a 90-day test period to ensure safety. The treatment we developed for birds is given orally, and the treatment we are developing for humans will also be given orally.”
Director of the Institute Professor Dan Levanon said the speed with which the treatment could be used would depend on regulatory approval. “Under the current conditions in which the disease is causing terrible losses, I believe that state regulators would be very lenient in the various stages that the treatment must pass before it is approved, of course ensuring that it will do no harm via side effects and the like. Under normal conditions, approval of a treatment like this would likely take several years,” he said.
Israeli scientists: 'In a few weeks, we will have c****av***s v*****e'
Israeli scientists are on the cusp of developing the first v*****e against the novel c****av***s, according to Science and Technology Minister Ofir Akunis. If all goes as planned, the v*****e could be ready within a few weeks and available in 90 days, according to a release.
“Congratulations to MIGAL (The Galilee Research Institute) on this exciting breakthrough,” Akunis said. “I am confident there will be further rapid progress, enabling us to provide a needed response to the grave global C****-** threat,” Akunis said, referring to the disease caused by the novel c****av***s.
For the past four years, a team of MIGAL scientists has been developing a v*****e against infectious bronchitis v***s (IBV), which causes a bronchial disease affecting poultry. The effectiveness of the v*****e has been proven in preclinical trials carried out at the Veterinary Institute.
“Our basic concept was to develop the technology and not specifically a v*****e for this kind or that kind of v***s,” said Dr. Chen Katz, MIGAL’s biotechnology group leader. “The scientific framework for the v*****e is based on a new protein expression vector, which forms and secretes a chimeric soluble protein that delivers the v***l antigen into mucosal tissues by self-activated endocytosis, causing the body to form antibodies against the v***s.”
Endocytosis is a cellular process in which substances are brought into a cell by surrounding the material with cell membrane, forming a vesicle containing the ingested material.
In preclinical trials, the team demonstrated that the oral v******tion induces high levels of specific anti-IBV antibodies, Katz said.
“Let’s call it pure luck,” he said. “We decided to choose c****av***s as a model for our system just as a proof of concept for our technology.”
But after scientists sequenced the DNA of the novel c****av***s causing the current worldwide outbreak, the MIGAL researchers examined it and found that the poultry c****av***s has high genetic similarity to the human one, and that it uses the same infection mechanism, which increases the likelihood of achieving an effective human v*****e in a very short period of time, Katz said.
“All we need to do is adjust the system to the new sequence,” he said. “We are in the middle of this process, and hopefully in a few weeks we will have the v*****e in our hands. Yes, in a few weeks, if it all works, we would have a v*****e to prevent c****av***s.”
MIGAL would be responsible for developing the new v*****e, but it would then have to go through a regulatory process, including clinical trials and large-scale production, Katz said.
Akunis said he has instructed his ministry’s director-general to fast-track all approval processes with the goal of bringing the human v*****e to market as quickly as possible.
“Given the urgent global need for a human c****av***s v*****e, we are doing everything we can to accelerate development,” MIGAL CEO David Zigdon said. The v*****e could “achieve safety approval in 90 days,” he said.
It will be an oral v*****e, making it particularly accessible to the general public, Zigdon said.
“We are currently in intensive discussions with potential partners that can help accelerate the in-human trials phase and expedite completion of final-product development and regulatory activities,” he said.

Just read a report that they're seeing the spread moving faster outside of china than in. Personally people in china tend to wear masks in the city due to air pollution I think. Whereas the people in other countries don't. No matter how paranoid people in this country are about our air ours is very good compared to the other countries. Our factories have met their pollution filtering system quotas. Our country spent billions on retrofitting our businesses to lower our pollution while others didn't even try. But back to topic get you some n95 mask recommended by CDC just in case because a lot of the places are running out even here. The ones who do have them are jacking their prices and Im sure they will go up further the closer th v***s gets to the rest of the country. When I looked for the ones I wanted on Amazon they were out with no idea when they could get more mak sure you have enough food and water

Just read Governor of California says the state is monitoring more than 8,000 people at this time. It figures with their homeless problem the v***s would find a budding home in this state
