Should white people sing black spirituals?

Western Michigan University is grappling with that question after a black student was triggered and suffered a social media meltdown when a predominantly white choir sang "Wade in the Water."

"So apparently Western Michigan University thinks it's ok for WHITE peoples to sing negro spirituals while the instructor talking bout 'these songs don't belong to one race.' They sure as hell DO," WMU music major Shaylee Faught wrote on a social media post now seen by more than 1 million people.

Faught got triggered after the choir's black conductor reportedly told the audience that the se******ns were "American songs" performed "for everyone" and "have no ethnicity."

TRENDING: House GOP to call for criminal charges against Mueller team

The performance, "Spirituals: From Ship to Shore," included songs like "Go Down, Moses" and the aforementioned "Wade in the Water."

Well, faster than you could say zip-a-dee-doo-dah, nearly the entire campus suffered a meltdown.

"We as a collective are appalling [sic] that this took place on our campus," The Black Student Union wrote in a statement. "This act is a further example and reflection of the racial insensitivity and ignorance that has been allowed to occur on Western Michigan's campus."

The BSU called for "racial reeducation on sensitivity training and cultural competence."

I have no idea what that means, but it sounds like one of Bernie Sanders' gulags.

University leaders released a statement to WKZO expressing their grave concerns over the matter.

"This student's perspective is real and it is important," they wrote. "It is one among many different perspectives."

John Wesley Wright, who is a renowned conductor and professor, told the Western Herald that he has no idea why the student got triggered and he has no reason to apologize.

"I just got off the phone with the bass from 'Sweet Honey in The Rock' (an African American a cappella ensemble), and her first question was, 'Has anyone looked into the mental health of the people who made those comments,'" he told the newspaper.

The professor's comment set off the Western Student Association, which condemned the "insidious nature of cultural appropriation."

"When the director is more concerned with investigating the mental health of a student rather than empathetically responding to concerns of students, it further illustrates that student's voices do not matter," they wrote in a statement to the newspaper. "We do not and will not tolerate these inappropriate responses."

The snowflakes who run the Black Student Union demanded an apology from the School of Music.

"To decrease the likelihood of events like this happening in the future, we demand that wh**ever culture, race, or ethnicity is being represented must be consulted before the show," the BSU wrote.

In other words, the choir may want to take a pass on that spring concert medley featuring the works of Dr. Dre and Lil Nasty.

Music is supposed to be a universal language. If universal it shouldn't be black only, or white only, or anything only! R****t Snowflakes isn't a strong enough term to describe these people, but I guess it does fit. Here's another example of a song that would be a trigger for them.

Re: FDR Quote)"I fear for the future of this country."

Me too. Especially the colleges and universities are mostly indoctrinated young men with no God, no fear of anything doing all sorts of violence to achieve their goals. All over the country, we encounter the liberal-socialist democrats obey the order and demands of Maxine Waters to attack or knock down conservatives and GOP's wherever they find them.

Now, the campuses, and environment around are getting worst Godless inhabitants lead by Socialist-Marxist Bernie Sanders. They have lost moral compass in society.

I remember, all these too much hatred, and widest racial divide started from the Obama regime.

This was not the dream of our Founders, not the legacy that they left us.They want us to have God the Christian God, they left. They dev**ed themselves to prayers in every day of their deliverance of their duties to the people.

I've been in counseling for months. Seeing my counselor who gives me a puppy, cup of cocoa to work through my inability to move forward in life.....

It all started after a Black man sang the National Anthem days after another one, the Star's and Stripes.
These were and are written by White people and white people songs.
I am by the way half black and half asian but identify as a "White man", go to a university run by my favorite professor's that help me understand why Obama was the best president in history and Trump is evil. I would write more but I don't want to be late for my s*x c****e operation....my dream since I was age 8 and my parents have been sooo supportive.

Gee, I wonder why the Bass player said "mental" illness, referring to the students. They have been g***med by i***t parents, i***t professors and DNCrun media. They cheer identify politics, t*********r/gay reprobate minds, censorship of speech except for their h**e speech. They support h**e against conservatives and Christians. They have been taught revisionist history. They are pansies, thin skinned narcissist, lazy and expect a free ride in the lap of luxuries and pissed off at "our" generation that had morality and ethics, worked hard, long hours and didn't provide them their every expectation. They h**e us for being on Social Security that we paid for, but blame us simply because now they have to pay into it. They h**e us seeing doctors because they see us as a strain on the medical system. They h**e us because we hold strong to the constitution and they believe it's an old, outdated useless piece of poorly written work.
They h**e us because in their weak minds MSNBC, CNN told them the t***h how r****t we are, how the conservative party is made up of fat, white, wealthy tax dodges, filled with h**e towards anyone that is not a conservative.
They h**e us for not accepting their ideology.

Let's pray in Trumps second term he can "really clean the swamp
Hold lying media accountable
Return us to t***hful history a curriculum that holds teachers and professors accountable

But I regress in my years of false hopes in changing our halls of learning because I'm a believer in God and the bible. Isn't this exactly what God said was going to happen?
Instead of bemoaning the devastation the left has brought, the evil in our halls of learning, I'll do what I can, but put more energy into rejoicing and praising God, knowing the time is approaching that God will put an end to this madness and hold "them" accountable.

God Bless America
God Bless Israel
God Bless and protect President
Trump .

Sad that my "Counseling " scenario describes majority of the young generation in one way or another.
Remember after T***p w*n the e******n, universities canceled students work, set up counseling rooms with cocoa and puppies because students were unable to emotionally cope with Trump's win?
The Godless progressive ideology of identity along with the degradation of moral social norms , I don't believe is reversible. This represents over a generation of progressive/socialist/marxists lies and brainwashing.
I further believe our best course of action is sharing the saving Gospel of Jesus.
