A Warning To Republicans

If you are building your hopes in the GOP taking the Senate in November, be warned. Even if that happens, nothing great will change as long as the same GOP elites are in charge. McConnell, Graham, McCain, Cochran, etal do not care a thing about what the true Republican constitutionalists think or want. All they want from you is your v**e and money. They h**e the TEA Party as much as the Democrats because they do not think they should have to answer to anyone. An increase in the number of Republicans in Congress will not matter until there is a change in leadership. The way they conducted themselves in the Mississippi primary and the way the treat Cruz, Rubio, etc. should tell you that.

Yeah we ll be stuck w/ another lame duck president, but at this point at least we won't have to deal w/ unilateral unconstitional laws. We won't have continous attacks on the 2nd amendment, and there will start being some kind of accoutablity for awhile. This REALLY is getting rediculas!

The makeup of Congress will not stop Obama from going after his agenda by ignoring laws and using executive decrees. There will not be enough v**es to override a veto if Congress passes laws he does not like, and you know Holder will protect him.

Your forgetting the option we have available. Many of you most likely have read or at least heard of it. If not you really need to get involved. The Convention of States. This can work for all of us. So check it out get involved

Liberty Tree-you hit the nail on the head. I was hopeful that Cochran would get his butt beat but he coerced enough democrats to v**e for him by lying to them as is the norm for these RINOs. I have absolutely no use for any of the four as they are all RINOs. Good Luck America !!!

I agree with your observation, but only to a point. The more we support true conservatives the more we get the attention of those who pretend to be conservative and the more we do that the more they become careful of what they say, do and support. Any movement must get things started and gain momentum as we move forward - as much as I distrust a McCann, I'd take one of him over a Warren, Fienstein and others of their ilk.

I think quite possibly the November e******ns will describe the discontent of the American People. My hope is that maybe the Rino will be kept in check. If this does not happen you will see the situation erupt into chaos.

I just don't like your method of straightening this mess out. How do we know what kind of people would be appointed to your convention? Maybe more progressives would be there and the opposite of what we want would result. Nope, I don't see anything like you suggest as a way to change the Constitution.

I have known what Constitutional amending meetings could very easily do. Do you know that the Constitution was written by a group that had been sent to the meeting in Philadelphia to consider some changes in the Articles of Confederation? They weren't sent there by the states to write a new document but their first decision was to do just that, and off they went.

How do I know that progressives wouldn't be the largest group in your States Convention? I need to see something other than what you call for before I go with it.

I want us to go on the Fair Tax for ethical reasons, but that isn't going to happen and I don't want states to have conventions to get it pushed through.

**********
The convention of states issue has been around since the early 19th century. Every state, with the exception of Hawaii has passed a resolution in favor of a new constitutional convention (under article 5). Every few years this idea seems to get re-floated but it is always an exercise in futility...like impeachment of a president.

Just another case of conservative sore-loserism.
