Trump's Belief That He Actually Runs The DOJ Is So Wrong It's Seriously Funny

Our president seems to have missed the civics lessons in school that breaks down the separation of powers. Neither he or the types of loyalist people like Barr and white house attorneys that work for the country and it's people get that the president has to deal with two other equal branches that he does not call the shots on.

This started back when he wanted to have unheard of private conversations with Comey, Comey knew that it was unacceptable for the president to meet with him, as he was the person in charge of investigations about the president. Neither the FBI or intelligence groups would be obligated or even advised to share intelligence with the president or white house legal counsel about ongoing investigations about him. It would then follow that the president absolutely cannot influence or obstruct investigations.

There is a need for absolute separation between the Attorney General and justice department, trump has broken down the separation between federal prosecutors in dozens of ways, starting with trump asking Comey to drop investigations and charges on Flynn. Trump followed that loyalty type pressure with an unheard of involvement with two circuit courts that were handling charges that involved trump finances and banking.

Now we are seeing a situation where from the time Barr took over as AG more than half a dozen of the dozen or so prosecutions of trump related issues have been dropped. We are seeing an unprecedented direct interference in sentencing of long time trump associates, which in the past an AG would never interfere in prosecutions and sentencing of convictions. We are seeing prosecutors taken off cases that they won't stand down on....but perhaps most third world or banana republic in appearance, we are seeing the DOJ being used as trump's personal weapon to go after anyone he doesn't like, who would dare speak out the t***h about his abuses of power. People in the DOJ are being harassed with legal challenges from them doing their jobs. The message is being sent that it will be harmful to your career to go after the president or even any of his people. People are being removed from their jobs for doing their jobs.

I've said this before, Hitler used the same approach with attacking the press, creating false narratives, removing those who tried to speak out, favoring friends involved in corruption, and going after and prosecuting people who do their jobs and speak out against abuses, the division was created by creating a perception of a feared enemy of the people, anyone not buying into the rhetoric becomes the enemy as well...

Hitler had his supporters same as Trump that didn't see anything wrong with total abuses of power.

Our president seems to have missed the civics less... (show quote)

Is or is not the DOJ under the Executive Branch? Is or is not the President over the Executive Branch? Does or does not the AG report to the president?

Thank you, you made our point exactly. This guy dosen't have a clue about the executive branch. In fact I don't think he could pass a 8th grade civics test .For that matter pelosi and schitt or nadler should have never been elected to any governing body. Of course the Pelosi family were members the mafia.

What's even funnier--or more pathetic--is that Trump just made his ambassador to Germany, Grinnell, the head of ALL our intel agencies. Grinnell has absolutely NO experience in intel work, but of course he's always been a loud and frequent Trump cheer leader. The whole Trump circus is a cavalcade of amateurs playing at gov't.

The Republicans are incapable of doing anything about healthcare, and that’s what will doom them in November.
