The VA system is state run universal health care and it seems to work pretty well.

It doesn't.

While the VA is rooted in noble intentions, it has been plagued with problems for years.

The VA has faced reports of excessive and contradictory spending, allegations of inadequate health care, a massive backlog of benefits claims and a top leadership position that nobody can seem to hold down.

The 8 years under Obama was horrible.
Impossible to get an appointment.
He ruined the VA and the system they had.

Obama didn't ruin VA ,VA was ruined before obama,VA is still ruined today, vets still dieing can't get appointments ,can't get in to see doctors,a very few are getting into regular hosipitals, but not a drop in the bucket. Just who has said they were going to fix va?He hasn't and I would think that the VA is last thing he thinks about.

The VA is a government run entity. Doesn't matter who 'ruined it' - the point is that government is not to be trusted to manage health care.

It must depend on the VA facility and who is running it. I am a vet and do go the local VA
once in a while. I am always treated very well, never have a problem seeing a doctor.
Well, there was one time with a foreign doctor not fluent in English, we were having difficulty
communicating. I came back to the front desk and told the lady there that I had no idea what
t***spired in there, he didn't know what I was saying and I sure as hell didn't understand him
and he was entering stuff into my records; I wanted a copy of what he was entering. Just then
another doctor appeared behind the desk....apparently with some authority.....he told me to
stand right there, he would get me in to see another doctor and he would see that the other
doctors entries were deleted from my records.
I am well satisfied with our VA

I just know before obama, the VA I had to deal with worked great.
The only problem I had was getting the same letter from 5 different departments.
What a waste of taxpayer money.
I hope if you deal with VA, you get good treatment.
I did have to call them out on something their website said that wasn't true.
It immediately got changed.
