Today I can't tell one brand from another.
In the 1950:
Pontiacs had a chrome strip from one end to the other with an Indian Chief hood ornament.
Plymouths had a rear emblem like a hat.
Buicks had holes in the front fenders.
etc,etc

As I recall these were called "concept models." A friend of mine was the International G.M. President and he told me that car manufacturers developed their versions, but were never put into production.
