A few days of quite seem in line as trump fires/removes all of those who had the balls to speak up about his crimes.. and got him impeached but failed to remove him..

So with the orange distructo dancing and prancing on the pages of our constitution and federal laws, we have a chance to view the smaller down deep evils of the orange undoer..

He is very happy by all reports.. and with cause.. caught red handed and he beat the rap.. he is so happy....

to the point... Rep Paul Gosar R-Arizona made the statement that decisions on copper mining near the BWCA or elsewhere should be based on facts..

Yes, and now moving to one of my own important positions.. let us have a look at this mining. the tailing of which would run into the BWCA waters..

a Minnesota REp, Betty McCollum has a bill to ban copper mining in the BWCA... Twin Metals Minnesota is one of two companies who for as decade have been intent to invade the area and do as they have done elsewhere.. sulfide mining..

Owners of Twin Metals is Chile's Antof*gasta mining Conglomerate..a two year study of copper mining risks to this area came about after near a decade of court battles..

The Obama administration commissioned the study, but it was halted in September 2018 by the trump administration..a few months before its completion..

the trump administration has refused attempts by congress and the editorial board to access the information gathered..never has any answer been offered as to why this foreign mining company, which has a horrible record on clean up and recovery of pollution in South America..

Prior studies have shown pollution cannot be re-mediated once it is in the BWCA..

It seems a focused effort is being made to allow a non-American company with an atrocious record of pollution to build a mine next to a river which flowing into the BWCA, WHY??

Profits will not be for our own country, yet all the risk is at our doorstep.. truly,,, MY door step..

No good reason can be found for doing this, yet with the facts sealed and refusal to be released, we will never know..

Is it, as some say, that the reason is that President Obama has his name on the protection, so trump insists on removing that protection??

Just as with health care, consumer protection, international treaties and anything with Obama name attached to it.. One could well win a bet on that idea..

Do not let the BWCA die for trump petty reasons..

The only thing wrong with your post is that there were no crimes what so ever. If you can honestly show or provide one single crime just one. I might look into it myself. So what crime in your mind did President Trump commit? Im being very serious here permafrost!

perhaps it would only be ethics rather then a crime as in robbing the liqueur store..

But ending the study which was/is crucial to a court case between the people of Minnesota and a foreign owned business which would be destructive to the states economy if the contamination of the BWCA was allowed.

Then refusing to release the data collected to date from that unfinished study...

The down side affects the people of Minnesota as well as those who value our BWCA and wild area.. the upside only enriches the owners of a company from Chile..

Mining jobs are few and temporary.. the destruction is long lasting.. centuries at least, if the are could ever be cleaned up.

Decades of testimony have been gone over and judged in favor of the people. then the final study started and only ended with no conclusion and no data released by the trump administration..

https://www.minnpost.com/national/2019/12/study-of-mining-near-boundary-waters-cut-from-federal-spending-bill/

In 2017, the Trump administration canceled a comprehensive study on copper-nickel mining near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. If the study had been completed, and mining were found to be unsafe for the region, it would have led to a 20-year moratorium on copper-nickel mining in the region. The removal of the language is another obstacle out of the way for Twin Metals Minnesota, which is proposing to open a copper-nickel mining project just outside of the BWCA.

I am disturbed that the White House intervened in negotiations and as a result, the agreement does not include the National Academy of Sciences study to examine the harmful impacts of sulfide-ore mining in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness,” McCollum said in a statement. “That said, the Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior will still have to address the question of whether mining, especially copper-sulfide ore mining, is appropriate on National Forest System lands in the Rainy River Watershed.”

States are free to make their own laws of compliance and enforce them... Not to mention the laws in place and conversion of Industy standards done to conform to them...just like they are free to not allow new companies in to do business in their state..

So whats the problem???

The BWCA is federal land so the failure to allow data falls on the change of focus when trump was elected..

Part of the several suits is via the state of Minnesota.. the rest are various groups intent on saving our northern wilderness.. the BWCA, if you do not know is unique in the country, not other comparable canoe area exists..

The owners of Twin Metals as well as another major attempt to gain mining rights that would affect this protected area have left huge destruction is wake of operations in South America and Asia.. they have attempted to gain approval with nothing more than verbal commitments and put nothing into documentation.

So the problem is permanent destruction of public land for private gain, which is not even American..

If you can not recognize that being a problem, nothing I can tell you is ever going to bring light to your mind or life..
