As I said, she did not spit in my face, nor disgrace her position. The Speaker let the President know, in no uncertain terms, that he still faces opposition despite his annexation of the Senate. Polite just doesn't cut it with this President. He sees civility as weakness. For insulting the Speaker in her own chamber, he got what he deserved. She has plenty of integrity.
Thank goodness someone isn't rolling over for this President. Shredding the State of the Trump Administration speech shows a compelling (should I say 'perfect'?) encapsulation for why the Senate should turn blue in 2020.
I did not hear conservatives worrying about decorum during the Obama administration, and I won't be swayed by their crocodile tears now.
