Did you initially miss that little word, "because?" The party that says they worship the Rule of Law doesn't. Besides establishing sanctuary states and cities to protect criminal i*****l a***ns, they violated Federal Drug Law reaping financial rewards from selling marijuana and now at least one state is selling psychedelic mushrooms with more to follow.
