Dear Senator King,
I was at your Town Hall today at Bowdoin College and so appreciate your arranging this event. I was unfortunately in the overflow room and was not able to ask my questions.
First, I would like for the Democrats in the Senate to argue the point that the v**ers DID speak in the 2018 e******n, and flipped the house by more than 40 seats. The house is the one branch of government that most closely reflects the views of the American people. This was America speaking that we want checks and balances on Trump. Were it not for this current House of Representatives, where would we be, and what would we not know? It angers me when the GOP Senators argue that we need to let v**ers decide. We already did. Not to mention that Clinton received 3 million more v**es than Trump in 2016. So where does this get us? The Senate will strip Congress of their ability to conduct oversight, by v****g to acquit on the second (as well as the first) article of impeachment. This is NOT the result America v**ed for in 2018.
Second, I was wondering if a demand could be made by the house managers that members of the senate who have recently been implicated in this scandal, i.e., Lindsay Graham, or those who have accepted foreign money from the Lev Parnas and Rudy Giuliani scheme, must recuse themselves from the v**e? And let’s not forget, Trump has been offering boatloads of cash to GOP senators.
Third, could a mistrial be declared, because of lead counsel Cippolini's knowledge of and involvement in the Ukraine scandal, as reported in the New York Times?
I have never been one to entertain conspiracy theories, but for the first time in my life, I find myself worrying that a c**p is underway, and that the GOP Senators know exactly what they are doing. I don't think it's just their cowardice to face Trump. I think it is something more coordinated and sinister. By waiting for the e******n to decide on the removal of the president, and allowing Trump to continue his efforts to seek foreign intervention (without the ability of Congress to use their oversight powers), opens up all kinds of possibilities for a r****d e******n result. I have always suspected that Trump's relationship with Putin is at the heart of everything. What if Russia messes with our v****g machines? What if Trump declares some state of emergency on e******n day and the e******n won't count? And don't forget, Moscow Mitch is refusing to pass any e******n safety laws. And why would ANY member of congress v**e to diminish their powers of oversight? I worry that they are colluding to maintain their power beyond the 2020 e******n, and very possibly change our structure of government.
I also was deeply concerned when Adam Schiff expressed his concerns that intelligence information is not being passed to the House Intelligence Committee. Is this true of the Senate Intelligence Committee as well?
It was worth driving to Brunswick from Belfast to hear you speak. It renewed my confidence that Maine is well represented by you. But my concerns remain...
Thank you for being our public servant. Thank you for caring to check in with your very worried constituents.

Sincerely, Anonymous.

I wonder why the Senate did not ask Liz Warren and Bernie Sanders to recuse themselves from v****g in the impeachment trial? How can it NOT be conflict of interest for people who are running against Trump for the presidency be allowed to v**e against him (which, of course, they did.) Never hear anything about THAT from the Dems, do we? And I wonder why they never mention that Nancy Pelosi herself admitted that the impeachment process started over two and a half years ago? And long before the impeachment was even begun Al Green said we must impeach Trump or he will win 2020? And Maxine.....etc. etc. etc....

It's not an impeachment, it is an attempt at a c**p....and that is treason - a high crime.

Article III | U.S. Constitution

1.
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

Treason is an act of war. Impeachment is politics

If our p**********l e******ns were won by popular v**e not by e*******l v**es then the candidates would all be in the bigger cities where the people are and the race would be different, but to say Clinton would have won is wishful thinking Trump 2020

Yes it is an act of war, but Treason is also the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to k**l the sovereign or o*******w the government. It is the action of betraying someone or something.
