Trump is only trying to extend a program that is destined to fail because of all the past politicians dipping into it for this and that. Had it been used for what it was intended, no one would have to try to save it.

Exactly right. On the present course, those programs spell disaster. The continued expansion is a short term "v**e-buying solution" that will beget long term failure. What the President is trying to do is similar to what he's done with the welfare system. Provide an environment and incentives that lower the number of people who require the handouts. Now if we could just de-fund Planned Parenthood, PBS, and others who use everyone's tax dollars to support l*****t candidates and policies.
