How about the caste system in India and the fact that it was partially motivated by skin color? The higher the csste, the lighter the skin...This belief continues to this day...
Asia has also long placed importance on skin color.... The ruling class took great pains to protect themselves from the sun, as only laborers had dark skin... And they tended to look for light skinned mates as well, as they didn't wish their children to be dark skinned... This belief continues to this day...
Mohammed mentions in the Koran that a black man is not greater than a white man, nor a white man greater than a black man... So racial tension had to of existed in Arabia for quite some time....
Throughout Africa there have been numerous conflicts based on race and ethnicity...
In Afghanistan the Hazaras (an Asian race) were targetted by the Taliban (Pashtuns and Persians)...
Today in Myanmar the Rohynga are being targetted by the Myanmars... Although it is mostly due to religious differences, Islam and Buddhism, racial background plays a part...
R****m has always existed... Although until the past few centuries it was less common...Why? Because travel and contact between different groups was less common..
Claiming that white people invented the idea of race is like claiming pdychologists invented the idea of homosexuality...
Long time WCS... How have you been?

Say that to the millions of Native Americans who were murdered en mass. I am Decended from 265 survivors of the Sinixt tribe that once numbered 6000. They were chased out of Canada and never allowed to return. In 1957 the Canadian government declared them extinct and sold the water from the Arrow lakes to The United States.
Native Americans murdered each other in mass and even tortured each other. There was no peace between Indian tribes. Native Americans were savages like so many of the brown and black tribes we now have living in the US.

I've been fine. Hope you aren't too impacted by what's happening in your neck of the woods. The word p******c is starting to be used here on the other side of the globe. Hope that's an overblown usage.
Anyway, back to the topic. Given the amount of conflict, war, and general 'savagery' in the past we can all pick and choose instances that prove our point. All one has to do is pick apart European (or African or Native American) history and there would be plenty of evidence that conflict wasn't based on race.
Your own examples show one reason that skin color may have mattered in ways other than race....outside workers were darker than the courtly staffs and the folks for whom they worked. I would say the 'other' (or enemy) was defined by outsider status. They worshiped the wrong gods or God, they had strange rituals or habits, they weren't part of the family or clan, they occupied more bountiful land.
It was the Europeans who codified 'race' as in and of itself as a defining characteristic outsider status. Race wasn't just used to define 'the other', but also established a ladder of human development. Scientifically. Mistaking their superior firepower for superior culture, Europeans and their descendants codified their scientific r****m into law and institutionalized the supposed inferiority of non-Europeans into their societies.
Well, I have to go to work. Talk to you later.

I suggest you study the various Oriental cultures.....
