Jack van Impe passed away on January 19, 2020...and I saw not a word on any media

He was a warrior for the Gospel on Television for over 20 years: where are the tributes or at least the recognition of his passing.

The TV station where I work aired his show for 15 years, 12 years that I was there. My job was control or traffic, essentially that meant putting his show on air in its various time slots. I received an email at the end of December that read he was ending his ministry on January 9, 2020, only ten days later he passed, serving the Lord almost to his last breath.

An evangelical Christian, he commonly spoke about a coming apocalypse that he believed would happen soon. Van Impe co-hosted the program alongside his wife, Rexella, who read recent news while Van Impe interpreted the stories to bolster his vision of the impending end times. Van Impe was active until his recent illness, with his final broadcast coming earlier in January.

Like him or not, believe him or not, He had a love of Jesus and passion for the Word. This is what we should remember about him, all possible disagreements aside. His heart appeared true to what he understood of the Gospel.

"What is the price of two sparrows—one copper penny? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it." (Matthew 10:29)

I just did a search for his name, rumi,

His obituary is listed on line by many Christian organizations, but no secular or MSM, which is really not surprising.

Jack Van Impe was often referred to as "The Walking Bible," because he knew the Bible so well he could recite most of it from memory. He was a man with an utmost faith.

I'm sure heaven rejoiced when he was admitted there one minute after his death.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Yes, we are fully confident, and we would prefer to be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.
So we aspire to please Him, whether we are here in this body or away from it."
(2nd Corinthians 5:7-9)
