there are many citizens of countries around the world that practice organized or recognized religion from countries that work. on some level.
name one Muslim country not torn by violence/religious extremism.

There are quite a few predominately Muslim countries that work well, those that separate secular and religious power and authority, just like America used to do. Those that allow religious leaders to wield secular authority, are embroiled in all kinds of internal conflicts, just like America is becoming.

None of these are theocracies. The only theocracy I can find which has been stable over a long period of time is the City/State Vatican City. But it isn't Islamic.
