The GAO claims that Trump violated the law by withholding funds from Ukraine to advance his personal policy agenda (funds that were delivered within Congressional deadline, and that Ukraine wasn’t even aware were on hold).

In 2014, the GAO ruled that Obama’s prisoner swap of five detainees at Guantanamo Bay prison in exchange for deserter Bowe Bergdahl violated federal law. “The Department of Defense violated section 8111 of the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2014 when it t***sferred five individuals detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to the nation of Qatar without providing at least 30-days notice to certain congressional committees," the GAO explained.

The GAO is under the oversight of Congress and led by an Obama appointee. The Office of Management and Budget, which is under the executive branch, disagrees with the GAO’s opinion, which seems to be based on the GAO's psychic ability to divine Trump’s motives as other than what he’s publicly stated and what he said in his call to the Ukrainian President. That was to insure that American tax money wasn’t being given to corrupt politicians who would steal it – which is his responsibility under a treaty with Ukraine signed by Bill Clinton in 1998.

The GAO is an independent, non partisan, NGO, that has never gotten involved in political or ideological shenanigans.

Perhaps a lack of guts amongst those in the GOP at the time. You know as well as I do that Trump has no interest in ending corruption he has blocked no other aid in this manner except in this case where doing so would bring him personal gain. The Saudi Prince had a Washington Post journalist murdered and dismembered to silence him, the epitome of corruption and Trump would not end weapons t***sfers to the Saudis. Of course the fact that Trump and his family have millions in business ties to the Saudis could never have crossed the evil crooks mind when he made that decision now could it?

Now the democrats are crowing about their Constitutional duty to impeach President Trump - where was their Constitutional duty when it was obama?

This is like talking to a small child with no understanding of nuance. The GOP would have quickly impeached Obama if he did anything close to what the Cheeto faced S**tgibbon has pulled. Congress had no duty whatsoever to impeach Obama because he operated ethically.

I am simply pointing out that the GAO, which stated that President Trump 'broke the law', also said that obama did precisely the same thing.

Also, the democrats say that they have a responsibility to hold President Trump accountable. So why did they not have that responsiblity when obama was President?
