Diplomacy Is Far More About The Good One Side Offers The Other Than The Pain That Is Inflicted

When tense regions have certain stabilities, and discussions are taking place as to what the players want to happen, what they are trying to achieve...taking actions that obviously are going to escalate leaves the person taking the actions bearing the responsibility if they could be seen by most as ill conceived or irresponsibly reckless, that being the case when the objectives don't outweigh the probable consequences.

When relationships exist wh**ever they are, trade, military alliances, wh**ever...agreements can have simple modifications that one side might not like but they agree so as to preserve the bulk of partnerships that they recognize the benefits of. Trade agreements have an array of approaches that can be used rather than tear up agreements with ultimate punches to their economy. And you sure as heck don't impose economic sanctions that will trash your own economy, there are no winners with the punch it out games versus diplomatic solutions. Taking away the things you are going to bargain with that the other side wants is truly moronic when you are trying to achieve a result. Here's what I want you to do in return for this thing you value is a far better way to go than doing it in a way that is looked at as a war, there are casualties in a war, and often there are no winners when it is said and done.

China has already replaced products they bought from us with other sources, they will not go back on their new agreements, and promises to buy token amounts of something they used to buy a hundred times more of will not help the farmers or ranchers here that suffered unnecessary pain or bankruptcy when the same results we get in the end would have been far better.

Trump tore up an agreement with Iran that got an array of nations trade and a better control of Iran's nuclear program. Being part of a country like Iran's growth and stability that benefits their 60 million people puts a better foundation of stability in the whole region.

Iran right now has a far better stability in terms of allies than we do, especially considering trump has unilaterally trashed several in his time in office...
...he made a huge blunder with Qatar, who is allied with Iran through oil partnerships, we have a key base there that could be in the alliance fray.
...he has taken an alliance with the Saudi's far past what it was, in preference to Qatar...so who would Qatar be most loyal to, the snake who threw them under the bus and jacked them for personal loans to Kushner, or their oil partner Iran?
...his stronger alliance with the Saudi's has implications in a long game where alliances are tested in a war that trump just made profoundly more eminent...Iran is their enemy, Putin is their ally
...Iraq was an ally to the degree we were using key strategic bases in their country, and fighting ISIS in joint strategies. They are more worried about Iran than the US and want us gone.
...Iran is allied with Russia, Putin will supply them endless weapons and military support. We broke Russia financially in Afghanistan, and what we did to them aiding the fight against Russia is sand on a beach in terms of what Russia's support for Iran, Syria, Turkey, Iraq...and how about China playing a role in supporting that group of allies? They will want a piece of this.

Trump has thrown diplomacy out the window, I can guarantee you that our allies can't take trump's word for or count on him for anything he commits to, his word means nothing and his actions are as capricious as the last phone call with one of his dictator friends, who they can be assured he will take their word over anyone else's intelligence services.
