Pastor just wanted to observe 'd**g q***n story hour,' but court fight rages on
Prosecutor heads to appeals to court to resurrect case
WND Staff By WND Staff

A prosecutor in Washington state is challenging a judge's decision to dismiss charges against a minister who was arrested by police when he went to a library to pray for the parents and children attending a "D**g Q***n Story Hour" event.

WND reported a court in Spokane, Washington, dismissed charges against the pastor, Afshin Yaghtin, who was arrested June 15 for "questioning the police's favorable treatment of supporters and unfavorable treatment of anyone they perceived to be non-supportive and for refusing to move to the 'protester' zone after being denied entry into the library," according to the Pacific Justice Institute, which defended him in court.

Pacific Justice said it was notified Dec. 23 that the prosecutor wanted the court to reconsider its decision. The judge refused, and the prosecutor appealed to the Superior Court of Spokane.

PJI said the prosecution's "unrelenting pursuit and extreme characterization of Yaghtin's speech has reached an alarming level."

"The prosecution claims that Yaghtin was using 'offensive language that could incite violence' and was trying to 'advance his public protest and profile.' For added context, the prosecutor recently took down his social media post which mentioned 'religious loonies' associated with this case."

Jorge Ramos, the Seattle attorney for PJI representing Yaghtin, explained: "The judge emphasized that law enforcement told Pastor Afshin to move based on his expressed beliefs, they do not argue against this. We are grateful that the judge reaffirmed her decision and disregarded the prosecution’s escalated rhetoric. Unfortunately, our focus now must shift to the court of appeals."

PJI President Brad Dacus said: "We at PJI are engaged in serious battles in cities across the country who are criminally prosecuting individuals because of their Christian faith. We are very thankful for our supporters who allow us to represent those whose constitutionally protected rights are at risk, free of charge."

PJI argued that the command by law enforcement violated his First Amendment rights.

The judge agreed, pointing out "the scope of the protest zones was expanded to include anyone attending the event who had an opinion about the event, regardless of whether they were protesting or creating a disturbance."

WND reported some of the event supporters carried provocative signs depicting Jesus in a dress reading to children. Others dressed like angels with oversized wings.

D**g-queen events across the nation are becoming increasingly confrontational.

WND reported a library in Renton, Washington, went beyond its d**g q***n story time, staging a "p***e celebration" that offered to teens "free lunch and dinner! Fun crafts! Loads of activities! Open mic! Karaoke! Advice panels, Safer sex presentations! A d**g show! Free swag!"

Some parents found out, however, and showed up with questions.

The library reacted by calling police to remove the parents.

Todd Starnes interviewed some of the parents on his radio program to find out what the library was up to.

He found that the library managers would rather call police and have parents removed from the public property than answer their questions about the sex toys being handed out to tweens and teens.

The library, which passed out free condoms and lubricant, held a raffle for "chest binders," which are used by girls who believe they are boys to bind their breasts.

Starnes said "taxpayers should be absolutely concerned about what is going on between the stacks behind closed doors."

Other events have taken place in Beloit, Wisconsin; Long Beach, California; St. Paul, Minnesota; and Houston.

In Houston, a library hired a convicted child-sex offender to read books to children.

My opinions on the entire L***Q phenomena has gotten me into a truckload of trouble in regard to my comments on the subject.

Disgust is only the beginning of how to describe my sentiments concerning the choice of behaviors displayed by these mentally deranged freaks of nature.

D**g Q***ns being allowed to even be in the same room with innocent toddlers is an a*********n and a sad fact that further leads me to oppose these individuals quite fervently.

I use the Holy Bible as my life instruction manual, so you might imagine how appalling this entire Q***r movement is to me.

My hope is that young people will see the repugnance of these beast like behaviors and choose to shun these d*****ts and reject the ideas they promote

While I totally agree with your comments, you did make one serious mis-statment in this sentence. These are not freaks of nature, these are people who are mentally ill or they are people who want to get extra attention by their d********g behavior. There are a few people with a genetic problem, but those are few and far between. However, a lot of victems of childhood abuse react in this way as an attempt to heal their pain by pretending that their confusion is genetic, not because of damage done to them by evil people.
