The easy solution;
1) A data base for employers to verify someone has the legal right to work in the USA.
2) actually take punitive action against the employer that decides the dollars they save not paying $25hr is worth it.

It would take $25hr, minimum, to get me to spend all day in the searing sun working bent over.

I don’t work on my own property during midday, from mid June well into September, other than cut the grass.

But I am told, because I purportedly know nothing about the importance of what is right and proper and LEGAL in these circumstances, that for prospective employers, sorting thru the riff raff of "Losers" to discern who is "deserving" is icky. Some of them don't even talk right!

I think you have that feeling of generativity. You are also human, that we could not deny, happy or sad.

I already cried for those marsupials. I watched them rescued from the wild. Those little joeys , I want to adopt two of them. I wonder what food do they eat? Perhaps they don't dwell in cold places. This is a tragedy, I pray the rain or snow comes down to their place.

Whereas, right now, my place is covered with snow, white all over when I got up. This I hope can be in Australia to stop the fires. I think Australia will get some of them soon.

I hope they can obtain some relief, too, but as the seasons are switched in the southern hemisphere, I believe it is early to mid summer in Australia, presently. It probably won't snow for a while. Rain, perhaps could help.

Thank God you had the good sense to do all that.
That's very mature for a child.

Most of my younger years I relied and trusted on God's grace to care for the "poor hungry children in China." Naive perhaps, but it was an impenatrable functioning "wall" that protected my heart from some devastating realities.

Perhaps CD can report on the success of that strategy. He may have unreliable memory function, tho... He said he had read that article in the past week but had forgotten when he mused that to his knowlege, c*******t countries don't offer kids free school lunches....

And yet, he is certain his two year old is resourceful enough to find her own nutrition if he were unable to supply it. So perhaps his experience is remarkably charmed or China is indeed a blessed place!

Sympathies, CD. My medications affect memory functions occasionally.

Sucks.

Once I got over the Hero worship and understood your god's attitude towards the "unchosen" people, ("Utterly destroy men, women and suckling babes, even their livestock... But, oh yeah, keep the virgin girls for yourselves...)

I ditched that b***h. I don't trust it as a shepherd or as a prosperity counselor anymore either! In fact, I find it fairly useless and often malevolent! I may be inconsistently powerful and knowlegable enough to live up to my moral understanding and ideals. That doesn't make me wrong. Just human. What is the god's excuse?

And this is just my own humble opinion. There is no God, just us. And "justice" is "just us."

Sorry if that stings. Feel free to ignore it. You are welcome to your own interpretations. This is just one little old crippled woman's observations and musings.

Great, but you aren't relating to the conditions of others and I don't think you can really imagine. You had a parent who did take care of you, many of these kids don't have that support. It also sounds like she taught you morals, and the difference between right and wrong, these kids don't have that either. These kids may have a whore for a mother on crack and a drug pusher for a father, if he's even around, probably best he isn't. Hard to fathom isn't it?

Yes it is.
I know how things worked here.
They weren't starving.
He was a drunk and refused to work.
We hired his wife to do different things.
My friends husband owned a business and offered him a job, he refused.

It must really suck to be that bitter.

It is not the children’s fault their parent choose not to feed them. It is the parents responsibility to feed and care for their children. If they won’t, the children should be removed and placed with people who will. If the parents receive subsidies, then a portion should be t***sferred for care of their neglected children.

Many things suck. Bitterness may be in the eye of the beholder or the taste of the morsel... Often it is noticed once one has ruminated for too long over something, but are somehow enamored of the dregs and are unwilling to part with them for some reason.

Some swallow, some spit, but them is the choices as opposed to sitting pucker mouthed and unfulfilled.

I spat. Sorry if you feel splattered upon. But the bitterness is passing.

Sucking is a juvenile human's first nurturing contact with the world.

Funny how we use the word as a shameful dig. Almost as if we have some strong need to see ourselves as the powerful, rather than the dependant, strong in our lonely independence, rather than enriched by mutual struggle.

Oh Please, how sanctimonious do you want to be? I'm not the one hating people here, you are. Just listen to the old rhetoric and that rhetoric is IN PLACE to have you people feel righteous in allowing Trump to take away the lunches, you...are...being...completely...played. Fool me once...

Not sure where you found h**e in my posts... Disdain, certainly... But not h**e...

I'll remind you but once that I am not an American and have no say in the actions of Trump or any other politician...

But I support certain policies..

I in no way h**e you, I don't even dislike you for Pete's sake, I've told you this. What I h**e is innocent children going hungry and that money which Trump is taking is going where? More to the military, where we spend more than 26 countries combined, and these very people help keep Trump in power. Wake up people.

I h**e the idea of children going hungry as well... And agree that military spending is outrageous...

I have full responsibility for my life and have for my children, again you are talking out of your arse, your assumption is so predictable, not jealous of anyone my friend, I've lived a comfortable life. The difference is I've seen the other side, and it ain't pretty, it is sad. It can be a cycle that people can get caught in as a recovering alcoholic, or a drug addict, or even depression for that matter. Try finding work. Other places have been becoming successful as in Finland and other Scandinavian countries.

Absolutely talking out of my ass... As were you when you judged me and my life... I thought that was acceptable as you began it.. Are there different rules for the two of us?

I have lived through difficult times... And am grateful for those who helped me... Alcoholism, drugs, depression, are all hard... But programs that enable them don't help them... Why would we leave children in a situation like that?

Not sure what you're getting at concern it the Nordic States...

What we all want here is the same thing people, for our citizens to be productive people, and you have to try and believe that that is what they want also, then maybe YOU wouldn't resent them so much.

Not all individuals want to be productive... That's a fact... Many are selfish, lazy, parasitical...

I don't resent them... I despise them...

But I agree concerning wanting society to be productive...

I will consider your input and shall ponder its value in future sharing.

Feel free to skip over my posts; there is no compulsion to distress yourself.

Calming interlude for a bitterly critical human unit.

My grandmother (from my mother's side) is the last of ten children... Only five made it to adulthood...

White privilege didn't do much for her family...

She never finished school...
She was raped at eighteen...
Married five times...

But her kids came first... Always a roof over their heads and food on the table... Even if it required working three jobs...

None of her kids have ever been unemployed...

Nor her grandkids...

Work is the backbone of our clan...

Had a cousin from my dad's side of the family go on welfare once... My dad's mom went down to the office with him twice a month... Just wanted to remind him that a sixty odd year old woman could hold down a full time job and take care of herself while a twenty odd year old man was pretty much useless...

He found a job really fast.... And was invited back into the family.... She was the only one who would talk to him...

God bless all those who work and take care of others...
My grandmother (from my mother's side) is the last... (show quote)

It doesnt pay to be a dead beat in your family sorry but that made me laugh

The workers are contractors unless they’re part of a union. There is no obligation to report social security numbers. They just include the numbers with the tax information at the end of the year.

Maybe improving the status of farm workers to include them under the fair labor act. Just a thought.

They have issued check for welfare for years!
For both cash assistance and food they use a plastic card that the benefit shows up on wh**ever day.

I'm Canadian...

Plenty of folk still pick up their welfare cheques by hand...

Were those designer jeans last months model? Or maybe from a couple years back? 10’s of thousands of folk that thru no fault of their own have been pushed out of the employment market for a variety of reasons. Or they are working for wages that qualify them for assistance. It only takes earning minimum wage to be below the poverty level, thus qualifying for assistance.

Good question about the designer jeans... I've picked up a couple of bargains at the Sally Ann over the years...

Seeing as how there were three of them, wearing matching jeans, I'm going to guess that wasn't the case...

Just admit it, anyone you think not valuable to society should just be euthanized.
That would mean being k**led in a humane, HA, way!

Euthanized? Certainly not... That is rather cruel...

They should be forced to work for a living...

I'd be ok with enslaving them as well... Indentured servitude would solve many if today's issues...
