hours before leaving for Christmas recess.

You're forgetting that the Legislative branch makes, repeals or amends laws, not the Judicial branch. What you're crowing about, is the abject failure of this Congress to do it's job by abrogating it's duties, t***sferring it's responsibilities to the other two branches.
I should remind you that Judges can be impeached and removed from the bench.
