Seattle Homeless

From the Internet: "Interesting story about how, despite more than $1 billion in spending to eliminate homelessness, Seattle’s homeless problem just keeps getting worse. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that “progressive” officials are spending most of the money on fighting “oppression” and “(interrogating) the current structures of power” in order to “examine the legacies of structural r****m in our systems, and co-design a path towards liberation with black, indigenous, brown and other marginalized communities.”

Silly me, I would have spent the money on shelters, drug and alcohol programs, mental health care and job placement. Let’s hope that the next increase in the homeless population comes from those officials being thrown out of office and into the street."

There is a big problem with municipalities and charities providing services for the homeless, essentially if you build it they will come. If you have communities where the homeless are harassed, arrested, mistreated have their meager belongings destroyed and disposed of and there are no shelters or social services they will flee to places that assist them. The problem of homelessness is not caused by prosperous progressive cities who treat these people with compassion, the problem is the majority of the country that doesn’t.

Typical kevy. Totally missed the point. Just had to blame America for a progressive caused problem. You need to move somewhere that would make you happy. Maybe Iran or Istanbul.

Yes that would be perfect for kevy. They have confiscated all the firearms, the police and military can have their way with him.

Some homeless people are:
** Harassed - be specific. Often it's hard to discern because every group (except white males) are victims and are 'harassed'.
** Arrested: That's what happens when you commit a crime. So they go to jail, get fed, cleaned, medical care. They just can't have access to drugs and alcohol.
** Mistreated: As with harassed.
** Please tell us which major metropolitan area has no social services or places to assist them?

Now, the article talks about how the money is being spent on things other than social services to help the homeless, etc - instead it is being spent "on fighting “oppression” and “(interrogating) the current structures of power” in order to “examine the legacies of structural r****m in our systems".

I'm sorry but you are trying to use intelligence and logic when communicating with "the kevy-boi", both tenants totally elude and confuse him, so please quit trying to show him the error of his ways. In other words just give it up !!!!!!

That's the difference, progressives and the like think what caused the problem (look in a mirror) while we'd look for solutions.
