This would put a quick end to the impeachment, but it would rob Trump of the chance
to defend himself and put some real t*****rs on the witness stand thereby pulling the plug on the “deep state”.

He also declared Obama could not seat a supreme court justice too, but now would disregard that if one needs to be seated in the next year.

He can try it but this wouldn't go well.

Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution of the United States (you HAVE heard of it, haven't you?) states that a Supreme Court Justice must have the consent of the Senate to be confirmed. As much as you Liberals whine about the Constitution, you should try reading it.

I have read many opinions as to whether the President was actually impeached or not if the House doesn't send the articles of impeachment to the Senate. I have also read that the fact that the House passed the articles of impeachment automatically puts it into the Senate. If that is the case McConnell can set a date for the trial. If the House doesn't show up, a default judgment in favor of the President could be entered. If the House does show up, the President's lawyers could ask for a summary dismissal for lack of evidence of any impeachable offense. The whole thing could be wrapped up the day after Congress returns from recess. The only way Pelosi could delay it would be if the House remains in recess indefinitely. Then you could impeach the Democrat leadership of the House for obstruction of Congress for failing to do their job of running the country.
