Romans chapter 15

Verse 1 - 7

We should go to church looking for what we can give instead of what we can get. We should build, uplift, and encourage instead of discouraging anyone unlucky enough to be in the same room with us. Verse three is written in Psalm 69:9. True Christians aren’t well received.

Verse 8 - 13

It was always God’s intention to save all of His creation. We should get joy and peace from understanding God’s word. The spirit of God is defined by the word of God.
It is the spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 6:63

Verse 14 - 16

I believe God chose Paul to replace Judas. The apostles chose Mattias, but this is the last time his name is mentioned. Paul wrote more books in the New Testament than anyone else.

Verse 17 - 22

If you want to please God, you must go through Christ. There is no other way. Yet today, we think we are saved while ignoring every sermon Christ preached, parable He taught, and miracle He performed.

Verse 23 - 33

Paul planned to stop by Rome, on his way to Spain, after going to Jerusalem. When he gets to Jerusalem, the Jews tried to kill him. He winds up appealing to Caesar when the Jews vow not to eat until they have killed Paul. Life is what happens when you make other plans.
