Any organization that has been Forced to deviate from its original Charter due to pressure from outside influence such as all of the organizations connected to the L***Q Beliefs, (for profit groups), are doomed to fail.
We have diversified ourselves right out of business. To much inclusiveness will doom any organization.

The Boy Scouts are, obviously, not what they use to be. I, too, was an Eagle Scout, but also disagree with some of their policies they have today. In is a few of the leaders that have screwed it up for everyone, e.g., one reason, they say, has caused their insurance to go sky high now. When I was involved, Boys Scouts were for boys and Girl Scouts were for girls. Period. As a kid I, it would have made no sense at all, and may have liked girls in Boy Scouts (which seemingly screws up the meaning of an oxymoron), especially at summer camp, but as an adult I do not understand why nor like the idea.
The Mormons probably did not survey those active boys scouts to see what they thought of having to quit, or their decision would have said it was based on the responses from those involved. But, then again, the Mormons are sending the Boy Scouts a message of what they have done to themselves. The scouts may have dug themselves a hole so big that, as the article notes, they may not survive.

Last year was the first time the Brownies took part in our Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.

Those five girls beat about thirty boys.....really spanked ‘em.

Having more kids, to enjoy the fun, is a good thing. HOWEVER, the girls kinda got a “pass”. The person, who was advising/helping the girls, didn’t follow the rules. Not too sure what the girls might have learned from this experience.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens this year. Maybe it’s time to just change the rules.

Understandable. Mormons view the Boy Scouts as fertile ground for Mormon religious indoctrination.

I agree, they began letting girls in (why is there a girl scouts?). I didn't know there were that many Mormons on the planet.

When I was in the 5th grade my teacher was the Cub Scout pack leader. One day, he asked if anyone would like to join the Girl Scouts. Naturally myself, and a few other boys raised our hand, thinking we were being funny. The Teacher gave us the application to take home and said: "You better bring back the application, all fill out tomorrow, and signed by your parents." What teacher could get away with this today without parents complaining to the school? Today's kids are not taught these good life lessons.
