Nothing about this was unexpected.

Today every Republican in the House called the democrats liars. All they could do was repeat the lies.

But we all called a spade a spade today. We ALL called them liars. We all told the t***h. They continued to lie.

The message was heard.

Relax and let that sink in!

The word "impeach" just means that someone has been charged with something. So where I'm standing, Trump has been "charged" with something. It is up to a court of law to take that charge to trial. Am I right about this?

So this goes to a court of law with a Judge (Supreme Court Justice Roberts) presiding and the Senate as jurors. They need an a 2/3 v**e NOT to remove Trump from office, right? They need that 2/3 v**e. I wonder how the Dems are going to try to do that!

That will be the next h**x, I think...let's see.

Impeach is as you said, to charge, but it does not go to a court of law. It goes to the Senate which is a political body, not a legal one. The House only requires a simple majority to impeach but the Senate requires 2/3 majority to convict.

Yes...in my bumbling way, I was trying to say that.

I watched this whole thing and it amazed me how much bias was driving this. Shiff and Nadler are very h**eful towards Trump and his family and administration, but they are also coniving. I use the word "h**eful" because outside of the political arena, that is exactly what they (Schiff, Nadler, Pelosi, etc.) are espousing. That alone should disbar them from being Chair of the United States Intelligence Committee as as well as the United States Judiciary Committee. Both of them swore an oath to the Constitution...that they uphold the rules/laws and construction of our Constitution.

When Nancy Pelosi walked back to the mike to address a reporter about her hatred, she went nuclear...something she does when backed into corner. (anyone want to find it, type "Nancy doesn't h**e anything", but not in Google...go to duckduckgo.com)

And I think she has lost something...maybe she wants to "retire" out of this. It sure is a big mess now.

As a General rule, I think it is fair to say that Democrats have evolved into a party of h**e. They were the ones who said it's OK to h**e the h**ers. What they don't seem able to comprehend is that hatred, no matter the target, is still h**e. Allow hatred in one sense and it eventually spreads to all senses. After all, it is the h**er who determines what is properly h**ed.

I've said for a long time, the Democrats disavow the KKK but they still act the same as they did when they supported the KKK. They just changed targets.

All is well...

Although some of my memes triggered my progressive friends on Wechat...

Kind of proud of it though

We may have expected this...….but being complacent and thinking all will be well is foolish. The Democrats are "buying" time. What they think they need is time to change the minds of Senate Republicans. You need 67 v**es in the Senate to convict and remove a president, and there are only 47 Democrats or independents, meaning that you need 20 Republicans to break ranks and v**e for removal. Could this happen, could President Trump be found guilty and removed from office....yes. Democrats have initiated a write in and call in campaign to the 23 Senators who are up for ree******n. But, here are the RINOs who may swing the v**e: Lisa Murkowski (AK), Marco Rubio (FL), Chuck Grassley (IA), Rand Paul (KY), Richard Burr (NC), Rob Portman (OH), Tim Scott (SC), Ted Cruz (TX), Mike Lee (UT), Mitt Romney (UT). Perhaps they need to hear from Conservatives.

To paraphrase "someone," Someone charged Trump with something.

Rand Paul and Marco Rubio won't play. I doubt Cruz will, either.
As far as Mitt Romney? He's just useless, I wish he hadn't come back into politics after losing his p**********l bid.

I was wondering about this earlier. Does there need to be 2/3 present for the trial, 2/3 present for the v**e to remove or acquit or 2/3 majority to rule??

I agree that they are stalling for time and yes, to try to change the minds of republican senators. What I think, however, is that Pelosi knows they don't have a fat chance in hell of getting that many to turn; I don't think a single one will turn to be perfectly honest but we shall see.

My gut tells me that this is the last bit of political circu they have left and they might very well try to withhold the Articles indefinitely; political suicide I think.

My question is this, if Pelosi doesn't formally "present" the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, can the Senate move forward without it?
