For all those who thought there would be a wave of Democrats moving over to the Republican side...well, it didn't happen and Donald Trump is now the third president in American history to be impeached. What I found most interesting is that not a single Republican defended Trump's actions, his behavior, or anything he did. The only defense Republicans had was to attack Democrats as being partisan, for hating Trump, and being biased. So they are shooting the messenger instead of addressing the message.
So it's a done deal and it's not up to the Senate to make the whole thing go away...

Not by any constitutional standard, not by any stretch of the law, was that a legitimate impeachment. That monstrous breach of our American system of government was, and is, the work of the stupidest ideologues in the Beltway. That so-called "impeachment" debacle is going to hang them.

They didn't have to. Impeachment isn't a legal affair. It's about committing actions that would disqualify you to be president. Seeking help from a foreign power for your political gain is one of those actions. Ignoring subpoenas and requests from Congress is another of those actions. He has been impeached for both and it is now up to the Senate to try him for any crime. It's the House that impeaches...they don't prosecute a trial. It's not up to the House to find a crime--it's up to the House to see if he committed any impeachable offenses--which they did.
