The Dems are really screwing the pooch on this one, setting a precedent of the kind the founders were afraid of; an impeachment based on partisan whims rather than bipartisan perception of "high crimes and misdemeanors," essentially making a frivolous joke out of one of the most serious, gravest elements of the Constitution.
Even the "charges" are pure fabrication, "Abuse of Power" and "Obstructing Congress?" Then Pelosi instructing her Democrats to look suitably solemn when they v**ed on the articles of impeachment, and she dressed in black.
The whole floor show was comedic to the point of resembling an SNL parody of a very serious process and accomplished little more than spitting in the faces of millions of Americans who v**ed for President Trump and those who support him and all he has accomplished.
The only consolation, if that's the right term, is that this entire circus will cost the Democrats dearly in the 2020 e******ns and there is nothing they can do, from this point going forward, to change that.
They have effectively crushed their own chances of coming out of 3 November 2020 with a whole skin, and set a precedent whereby the Republicans, should they decide to come down to the level of Pelosi, Schitt and Noodler Nadler, can feel free to "impeach" any future Democrat president they don't like for frivolous reasons.

Pelosi is holding off sending it to McConnell until she knows how he's going to run the trial because she wants it to be fair.

Certainly can't argue that. A couple things I would like to see implemented.
1. When a new political party comes into power all political apointees from the old party now are dismissed. Should the new party want to give them a job let them apply.
2. other thing, all security clearances terminate when the person is no longer employed in the job requiring the clearance. Just like v**er polls, I'd be willing to bet there are dead people who have unused clearances just waiting for someone to assume the identity and clearances.
