Actually, he is not losing the military. According to the article, he is falling out of favor with the career military. Any President who pursues peace will face the same problem. Rank means money and rank during peace is harder to achieve. Rank during war comes easier due to military expansion and attrition.

How many times in the last 3 years have we heard " we have a deal with China! ", only to see that this wasn't true? How many times have our uniformed heroes ( and their families ) hear "I'm ending the forever wars and bringing our troops home!", only to see that this wasn't true?

The ONLY campaign promises that Trump has managed to bring over the finish line................have been those that benefit himself, his family and his wealthy friends.
