fta: "Second, some Republicans are just as indifferent as their Democrat and Independent peers."
You know people drift into church and they have all these ideas about how "they" are going to change how we worship. At my age I just laugh because I know the vast inertia they will have to overcome will always swamp them.
When I was younger I fought against them as I looked at them as wolves come amongst the sheep to slaughter them. Now, I just shrug and let the indifference handle most problems.
Who knows? Maybe this is also the saving grace of American?

Never thought about it like that, you could have a valid point.

I very much liked these words from the writer since they are just what I think.
That brings up a related culprit: for a variety of reasons -- poor schools, journalistic malfeasance, wh**ever -- we live in the age of the "low-information v**er" (LIV), and LIVs are too ignorant to realize how bad things are.I certainly agree that our nation is overridden with Low Information V**ers and that the media is the real reason for it all. Yes, our schools were taken over by the progressives long ago and the people who have been so unfortunate as to have gone to those schools surely do fit the definition of LIV.
I especially liked his words about the apathy of people of both parties and their lack of anything to determine why the nation is in such poor condition or how it got that way.
Darned good article, but then most from that source almost always are.

I am not at all sure that Dems and Independents are my peers. Also, I wonder why you picked church and religion to make your comments about. I failed to see one word about religion in that article. Was there something about it in there?
Old Roy, I used church as a community not in the religious sense. ie: communities of people tend to be indifferent to being hostile toward change I guess was my point.
Therefore, any changes we can attempt will have to be able to overcome this apathy.
