Not to my knowledge. We live in West Virginia which has much the same subculture as does Kentucky which is why we found it SOOO funny.

15 years ago I did customer support for “Adelphia” high speed internet. I was working in an office in Tucson and One of the areas I covered with phone support was West Virginia. One night I was talking to a customer who didn’t have enough computer knowledge to follow my instructions so I asked the man: is there anyone there who I can talk to who has more computer experience---the man hollered “hey Maw he wants to talk to you”, that didn’t help.
Another time with a WV customer who was having trouble with his internet access the customer lived in a metal covered trailer, probably aluminum. He was talking to me on his cell phone which didn’t work inside his trailer home so he had to go outside to talk to me then go back inside to attempt to follow my instructions. Of course by the time he got back inside he forgot what my instructions were. I was not able to help him either.

I have southern and south eastern relatives and I love the southern drawl that they have. I live in northern Illinois and there is no southern drawl up here. I have relatives in Texas, Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia and I have heard that southern drawl on occasion and it is cute.
