He must have been given a vision of today's Democrats.
Lincoln knows what he's talking about

I'm surprised that you recognize this, F*****t Pete. Hatred among Democrats and their constant harassment of Trump is rotting the fabric of our government system. Their constant attacks on our great President is eroding peoples trust in government. Democrats didn't learn their lesson from the "nuclear option" in the Senate. They changed the rules so they could stick it to Republicans when Democrats were in the majority. It never occurred to them that Republicans might gain the majority and use the nuclear option to stick it to Democrats. Now Democrats are setting a new precedent of floating loads of bogus accusations at our great President to demean him, to vilify him, to hopefully knock him out of office. They are not considering the possibility that Republicans might do the same thing to the next Democrat President. Democrat actions are a danger to Democracy. Their actions represent decay in the integrity that once existed among our chosen leaders.

I read about this about ten years ago... After meeting a fellow from Libertania... Shocking!
The meme is NOT a Lincoln quote! The closest is "A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within. " -- Ariel Durant Lincoln implied this in his Address Before the Young Men's Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois" January 27, 1838. "All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years.
"At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."
I wish people would actually take the time to know their subject and not act like lemmings!
