He does try though.

Absolutely not...

My point was that a Republic is just as susceptible to abuse by the government as a pure democracy...

Most Republics have not lasted...

There is nothing inherently more stable about a Republic than a pure democracy...

Well, we'll just have to disagree on the Republic verses Democracy debate.

Like I've stated ..no one could convince me that they're equal in stability.

I'm speaking of the United States Republic and its checks and balance system.

Not a c*******t dictator form of Republic.

yeah I have to agree with your statement, but we really need to do is get back to a smaller and more constitutional government.

The question is what do we shrink? The military? Regulatory agencies? FCC? FDA? CIA? NSA?

Be specific.

Another reason for me to bite the bullet and v**e Trump if she’s the nominee.

Please explain, isn’t that what the Constitution and bill of rights are designed to protect us from? The abuses that can creep into a republic!

Since trump just sided with Hong Kong and pissed China off, the chance of a new trade deal may have just vanished like the t***h when trump or his con supporters try to spin a lie.

That said, if trump is telling the t***h that China's economy is much worse than the U.S economy, and that China is paying billions and billions and billions of dollars into the treasury, the question becomes why should trump ever end his tariffs on China, in fact why not increase both the rate of tariffs and expand the number of products affected by the trump tariffs.

In a few years or less, trump could bankrupt China, and lower taxes here even further. And pay down the ever increasing trump monthly deficit and ever increasing national debt.

Sounds like a plan that all trump cons should be able to support, so why won't trump do it?

Sounds like an excellent plan...if Trump isn't lying.

Every republic is unique...

Point to another that is comparable to the US?

One would hope...

Soviets had a constitution too...

When a government gets too powerful what is to stop them?

Excellent post 007.

I never joined the military but I did register for the draft and that sums up my feeling about the military. I'll do my duty if my country needs me but if they aren't drafting it's because they really only need "a few good men" to fight for the corporations. It looks like you learned the hard way. ;)

Seriously though, I agree with everything you've stated. I would really like the people to come to their senses and recognize the corporatism that's gripping the nation and controlling our government. I wish they could understand the difference between a small business and corporate power. Maybe one day.

I’m more worried about the regulatory staff. They have way too much power for unelected people.

They are definitely dangerous but I still think the military industrial complex is more dangerous.

I don’t know- we’re getting hit from multiple directions. Monsanto has far too much control over our food, small farmers and ranchers are getting pushed out or swallowed up by corporate farms and ranches and Big pharma carges exorbitant prices. To name a few.

I can’t see any changes forthcoming with any of the current candidates.

Fact
In my opinion. Each citizen has a responsibility to learn as much as possible regarding a specific issue. With social media they can find others that are also informed about the issue and figure out a strategy to address it. Then do something.

I would excuse the learning disabled.
