Yeah, he's in it for himself....right (sarcasm..). So here's the list of where he has donated his salary so far Each donation is for $100,000.00, totaling - so far - $1.1 million:
2017
First Quarter: National Park Services (to help renovate the National Battlefield monument)
Second Quarter: Department of Education (for children's camps)
Third Quarter: Department of Health and Human Services (to help with opioid crisis)
Fourth Quarter: Department of T***sportation - (to help with infrastructure projects)
2018
First Quarter: Department of Veterans Affairs (to support it's caregiver program)
Second Quarter: Small Business Administration (for veterans program)
Third Quarter: National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (his brother, Fred, died of alcoholism)
Fourth Quarter: Department of T***sportation (again) - (to help with infrastructure)

If he is not accepting it, it should return to the treasury.
As he IS accepting it, in order to donate it, highlighting preferred causes and presumably accruing the tax benefits of the charitable write off, where is the piety?
