A post from Quora..

Do liberals and conservatives want the same thing but disagree on the means to get there?

In America, they no longer do.

The following are some of the Democratic principles:

Rule of law.
Politicians should be held to a higher standard.
We pay taxes in order to fund programs that work for our benefit.
America should be the leader of the free world. American policy should encourage stability, democracy, and human rights.
There should be a strict separation between church and state.
Diplomacy first; then war, but only when necessary.
Legal immigration should be simplified.
Disclaimer: not every Democrat will agree on all of these points, and some will support points that I may not agree with.

Before we go on to Republican principles as of 2019, let me add that most of those were conservative values in the 1980s.

Here are the principles that the Trump adminstration and its supporters practice:

Rule of our party.
Our politicians get a pass. Rules only apply to our enemies.
No taxes for us.
Screw the world.
Human rights are for sissies.
We don’t negotiate. We’re the best so other nations have to do what we say.
America is a Christian nation, and if you don’t like that, go to Hell.
We’re ready to kick ass and take names.
We don’t really want immigrants, and if we don’t like you, we’ll throw your children in a cage.
There are two kinds of Americans: Republicans and t*****rs.
Anyone who doesn’t get on board with us is a t*****r.
We don’t have to tell the t***h, or the t***h is what we say it is, or you’re lying or you’re biased or you’ve got TDS or blah blah blah.
No matter how defensive you get, how often you try to claim Democrats do that, or how much you double down, that’s what your party is practicing.

Perm, this is one of the most ignorant, slanted comments you've posted and is principally why those who slept in a Holiday Inn Express understand that being a L*****ts isn't politics, it's the world's dumbest religion.

Democrat principles are simple. The end justifies the means. Always accuse others of what they do themselves.

I agreed with the conservative values in the 80's. I wouldn't touch these. I don't think many others would want them. I'll give you an example: "All will pay who disagree with me" I didn't know it at first but it pretty much applies to all of them. Oh it's a line from a song in Steppenwolf's Monster Album I think the name is Don't Step On The Grass Sam. The immigration, the cages were barry and maybe Bush used them too. Trump stopped that practice.
