No, the border is about national sovereignty and homeland security, via our government knowing exactly whom we are allowing to enter the United States.

All immigrants are welcome as long as they enter the country legally so that it can be determined that

a) they are not convicted criminals or known/suspected terrorists or from terrorism exporting countries that are on "no admission" lists

b) they will not immediately become public burdens (the immigrants who historically helped build America came here to assimilate, work and contribute, not to simply l***h off the working taxpayer), and

c) they are not carrying any diseases or communicable pests that can become epidemic, as many i******s and caravan "refugees" have, infecting numerous Border Patrol and ICE personnel (chicken pox and worse) with illnesses we eliminated here in America decades ago.

There seems to be a problem among many Americans of the Democrat persuasion in distinguishing the difference between the terms "legal" and "illegal," as in the "rule of law." It is within the purview of the federal government to know who is entering the country, and it is just plain stupid to endorse having a few million undocumented people milling around within the population.
