The American healthcare system is broken. The cost of premiums has skyrocketed, quality has decreased, and red tape has engulfed the industry. How do we fix this crisis? Katy Talento, former lead health advisor to President Donald Trump, joins Candace Owens this week to discuss how to solve the looming catastrophe.

The easiest solution is to get rid of health insurance.

That would help. Everyone would go broke.

Not necessarily. Health providers won't have the deep pockets to put their hands into, instead they'd have to price according to the market. I believe the answer is 'back to the future'. By that I mean look at how things were 50 - 60 years ago. Most doctors worked from home or small offices. They knew their patients and made house calls. Hospitals took care of the more intricate services. Your insurance paid the bill, no 'network' & no deductible to meet. My pet peeve is with dentists. Sixty years ago I broke a tooth. My dentist put a clamp around the tooth and mixed some white material and stuffed the mold. Fifteen minutes later he removed the clamp and in 10 minutes shaped and polished a new tooth that lasted 35 years. The cost $15 payable in 3 weekly payments. Go to your dentist today with a broken tooth and see what it costs.

No, maybe just look around for a better one. I'm doing great with mine and it's not the VA.

That's true. I'm doing great with mine too.
Now, a dentist bill......you're lucky they don't take your house. Haven't found a great insurance for that yet.

Here is the solution as it has been for about 40 years: pass a law that healthcare providers can not charge a patient without health insurance any more than the least amount that provider is willing to accept from an insurance company for the same service. With uninsured people getting the same 80% discount billion dollar insurance companies now receive, the need for health insurance would disappear.
