Trouble with politicians.
Reading a great thriller series about an American Assassin named Mitch Rapp. I found one of his statements about politicians in Washington quite profound. What they (politicians) want, what they thirst for, is not to help people, but to hurt the people they h**e. Sound about right.

Do unto others, before they do unto you.

Can’t figure out in his books who I like more. Lucas Davenport or Virgil Flowers?

I got hooked on Sandford's books because of his Prey novels with Lucas Davenport and I very much enjoyed the earlier ones. But as changes took place with the character, I kind of lost interest. Not sure why.
But his Virgil Flowers character is very different from Lucas. He's more of a "good old boy" and not as intense as Lucas. There is a bit more humor in the Virgil Flowers novels, too. I have loved every one of them and look forward to the next one for months before it comes out.
So, at this point I would say I like Virgil Flowers more.
What other series are you interested in or do you recommend?
Anything by Brad Thor or Dave Baldacci. Harry Bosh novels. Women’s murder club. Dave Burke books starring Clete Purcell and Dave Robicheaux ; to name a few.
