These may go on for longer then I thought, still very cold outside.

The Economy:

If there’s one thing Trump supporters’ can be counted on to do, it is to laud Trump for his “handling of the economy”. Here too, reality is no friend to Trump or his defenders. When he came into office, Trump inherited the greatest economic surge in modern US history. After inherited the worst economic downturn since 1929, Obama presides over a growth period that saw 10–14 million jobs created, a reduction of unemployment from 10% to less than 5%, and a Dow Jones increased consistently by 10,000 points over an 8-year period.

Since Trump entered office, these trends have actually slowed and suffered reversals. Most of these reversals have been in response to Trump’s trade policies, which center on an ongoing tariff feud with China. Every time Trump has announced new tariffs, the stock market has suffered the highest same-day losses in decades. Meanwhile, job growth has diminished, investor confidence is becoming shaky, and financial experts are anticipating a recession by late 2019 or early 2020.

Trump Is Falling Almost 1 Million Jobs Short Vs. Obama

In spite of this, Trump supporters claim that Trump is single-handedly for all the job gains that have occurred in the past two years - despite the fact that the situation has changed very little (and even regressed) from when Obama was in office. Moreover, they seem to think Obama was not responsible for the economic turnaround that happened between 2009–2011, that it was entirely natural, or that he actually slowed economic recovery.
