Yeah, well, that one seems to have justified itself given that a few of O's own relatives back home have put in their two cents.

That said, nothing about the "birther" kerfuffle disrupted the operations of the government -- basically denying the taxpayer any meaningful return for the salaries and expenses of the Democratic Party, for example -- as the unending "get Trump" witch hunt that's gone on since long before this president was even inaugurated.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said Tuesday he doesn't know the National Security Council expert who told lawmakers that Trump's July 25 call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky was inappropriate. How many times have we heard the president say he doesn't know someone to avoid being implicated in some crime.

But Trump stopped short of repeating his claim that Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman is a "Never Trumper."

"I don't know Vindman at all," Trump said during a cabinet meeting at the White House. "I never heard of him."

Trump's remarks came as a House committee was conducting another impeachment hearing in which Vindman was one of the witnesses. Vindman, who listened to Trump's call with Zelensky, told lawmakers Tuesday he knew without hesitation that he had to report his concerns about the conversation to White House lawyers.

“It was inappropriate,” Vindman said. “It was improper for the president to request, to demand an investigation into a political opponent, especially a foreign power where there is at best dubious belief that this could be an impartial investigation and that this would have significant implications if it became public knowledge.”

Vindman said that given the "power disparity" between the United States and Ukraine, it was clear that Trump's request for investigations was more of a demand.

At the White House, Trump said he briefly watched Vindman's testimony. "I'm going to let people make their own determination" about Vindman's remarks, he said.

Trump faced a backlash from Democrats and Republicans last week after he tweeted negative remarks about Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, while she was testifying before the House Intelligence Committee.

How to stay updated on USA TODAY's impeachment coverage

Yovanovitch was testifying in the second public hearing of the impeachment inquiry into allegations that Trump used military aid as leverage to pressure Ukraine into opening investigations that stood to benefit him politically. As she testified about her removal as ambassador, Trump tweeted: "Everywhere Marie Yovanovitch went turned bad. She started off in Somalia, how did that go?"

Yovanovitch told Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., that she found the tweet "intimidating."

Trump asked for "a favor", in exchange for American taxpayer's dollars. As any good steward should do to make sure we get value for our money. Vindman embellished “It was inappropriate,” Vindman said. “It was improper for the president to request, to demand an investigation". We've all read the transcript.
What was improper was for Joe Biden to DEMAND that they fire the prosecutor investigating his son with the threat of withholding a billion dollars in aid. And then laugh about it when he was fired w/i 6 hours!

My dad was a WW2 veteran and received a purple heart and two bronze stars in Italy with the 10 Mountain Div. He had more integrity in his little finger than this narcissistic b***h has in his whole body. I've heard of career veterans that get a purple heart from getting a paper cut. That doesn't make them a hero now does it?

You surely know Trump did not "instigate" the continued and unsettled question regarding Obama's birth? Trump's celebrity status magnified his comments but he did not start the birther movement, Obama did! Perhaps you might consider reading his book where he claims he is from Kenya and he registered as a foreign aid student at Harvard. A family member, I think it was an aunt or grandmother, said he was born in Kenya. I wouldn't bet the farm he is a native born American, and then there is the DACA movement he was very sympathetic towards.......to the degree of illegally.
