I think the mass shootings did start long ago but are much more frequent now.. for many reasons probably..
the first I think was the Texas tower shooting.. when was that?
also, while not a shooting, the k*****g of all those nurses in Chicago was some time ago also..
when I belonged to the NRA, it was very different, now it is mostly a political hammer..

The most recent school shooting was in Californi, the state with the strictest gun control laws. Ever notice, most gun crimes occur where there are strict gun control laws. Strict gun control laws actually help criminals. Criminals know that the citizens and businesses in theseareas don't have weapons, and so, can't protect themselves from criminals.

The problem is not guns, it's the evil in some people's minds. How do you change that? We started this country based on religious freedom and God was involved in most of what we did. Little by little we have removed God from our daily lives and evil has moved in! Put God back into our daily living with prayer back into school day opening, pledge to f**g and what it means each day. It will take some time but it will change. Do your part to instill standards and principles into your children this is the only way to change things.

What can we do about that? This country was founded on religious standards and principles. Little by little we have removed God from our daily lives and evil has moved in in the form of personal greed, pleasure and personal desires. We have left alot of the standards we grew up with and this is the result. Put God back into our daily lives. Put daily prayer back into classroom along with pledge of allegiance and what it means. Keep Islam out of schools and take more personal responsibility to teach your children standards and principles. It will take time but it will change what is happening. Look for the real problem and how to fix rather than trying to find a quick solution.

AF1 - In this particular case, it's hard to pin the blame on the NRA or their Republican supporters. The offender used a .45 caliber hand gun which is not on the list of weapons typically targeted by gun-control advocates.
But I think it's worth noting that the number of victims in this incident is five. Two were k**led and three were injured. After that the assailant turned the gun on himself and spent the last bullet.
So I think this incident is still a case for gun-control because it proves that a gun that is not targeted by gun-control advocates has a lower k**l limit. Compare this to some of the other shootings that happened this year using weapons with greater k**l capacity, like Odessa (8 k**led, 25 injured), El Paso (22 k**led, 24 injured), Dayton (10 k**led, 27 injured)
I don't want to marginalize the victims of this latest incident but in the grand scheme of things, had the assailant used a military-grade weapon, a LOT more kids would probably have lost their lives.
And here is the point that I will make for the millionth time... There is virtually zero political support for banning all guns. Gun-control advocates are trying to find a compromise between our right to bear arms and the best level of safety that can be expected given that right. In other words, freedom is dangerous but it doesn't have to be insane.

Of all the things I thought about you i***t wasn't one until now. For one thing, place the blame where it belongs with the shooter. Next look into past mass shootings, they have a convenient common thread. Does the left have plans to k**l off 90% of the living population? Yes. God got kicked out , where? If you think god was in public schools at some time, my experience leads me to believe that this is not so. During the great depression my folks went where the work was and we used to move a lot. 2nd grade was the worst. It took me two years, three states and six schools to get through 2nd grade. Three different high schools. I think I have a pretty good idea of what was going on in public schools in the 1930's and I never saw prayers or God in public schools. Teachers were too busy taking attendance, collecting milk money and selling war stamps and trying to get through the lesson plans to have time to say prayers. Years later when I taught chemistry, I know there were prayers in class, especially before I gave tests. Those prayers were addressed to Christian, Bhuddist, or Muslim diesties, and maybe some others But I didn't lead them.
There is some evidence that at least some of these tragic shootings are linked to the use of certain anti-depressant drugs. Go online and search "mass shootings/drugs." The same drugs are also linked to the high rate of suicides among veterans.
