I'm so wrong???? Tell this to 60 plus millions of people who died under his regime!!!! My dad knew quiet a few that died or went hard labor prison for political enemies of Stalin!!!!! I'M from former Soviet Union I think I would know about this more than you , friend!!!!
Molotov was never pardoned by Khrushchev and Khrushchev was never pardoned by Brezhnev but they could live out their lives in comfort and security, even producing their historically invaluable reminiscences on the quiet, because the Central Committee survived the blood purges and political executions, ending with Stalin's departure 5 th. March 1953.
So it seems like he was the cause of it all but Stalin wasn't 100% after the war and the reason the Central Committee and hence the S.U. survived was because of Stalin's Leadership.
Ron Paul would say liberty is doing away with Central Authority, there can never be anything bridging this gap in ideology, I personally saw this critical commitment to either central authority or libertarianism make enemies of the closest people, one such example that I took time to analyse was the relationship between Stalin and his daughter Svetlana.
I saw this play out with 10's of C*******t children I grew up with who turned against their parents after accepting libertarian values.
Wasn't always that way, opportunity created a choice that previously didn't exist, family members of Stalin's leading politicians did time in Siberia, even Stalin's relations from his first marriage, even his first wife found no refuge in being Stalin's nearest and dearest, many loyal C*******ts who got caught up in the political intrigues when the members of the workers collectives or soldiers committees with a beef and farcical evidence brought them to trial, judgement was based on which contribution to the system was most important, a good c*******t was expected to admit guilt be executed while praising the system, this was the discipline that won the war, Stalin's son was captured which brought shame on Stalin the rule was being captured was the act of a t*****r.
Demographics would win in the end, everyone knew that except Hitler until he has 12 year old boys in uniforms on the front lines.
It doesn't matter about personal connections or sentiments, historical discussion about the Soviet era is a specialist subject requiring heaps of reading, I've done a bit but I too have a history of close connection to the political developments of Stalin's Leadership, I'm not pretending to be after a Ph.D stemming from a wicked knowledge of Soviet History but I have read most of what Christopher Read wrote on the subject and he is an authority that I agree with on almost everything.
One amazing contradiction no connected to Read, The Polish - Soviet, war February 1919 to October 1920 Lenin figured that the Jews would support them and in many ways they did most of the Bolshevik Leadership was Jewish, Cathrine the Great brought the Jews into Imperial Russia and the 1905 / 1917 Revolutions were extensions of reaction to pogrons, Stalin was Orthodox really an outsider.
However when Lenin went to liberate the Jews in Poland the Jewish Bund fough fiercely behind the the famous Pope Pius the XI (Nuncio to Poland in 1919) who was on the barricades making speeches, Pius XI to become after that synonymous with the genocide of Orthodox Christians in Croatia, Archbishop Stepinac of Zagreb from 1937, Stepinac one day to be Canonized, led the Franciscan girl murderers who would execute their victims naked in a sexual frenzy, and that was the reason Mussolini gave the Vatican to the Catholic Church he was ordered too by Hitler to quiet the Franciscans down.
