But when I think about the major do overs that would have been life altering it occurs to me I wouldn't have the life I do now.

I too have a nostalgic memory but it's about a time, that I became so angry I almost filed for divorce. I know you're shocked; even more so when I tell you it was all over a dog. Jeanette's childhood friend was married to a man who, like myself, loved to hunt and fish. Don was big into coon hunting at night with dogs, something I'd never done before. Don invited me to go with him one night. Once was all it took because I was thoroughly hooked. Don kept the coon hides to tan and sell; the meat he sold to a mink breeder. He had different size boards, rounded on top, so that he could stretch the coon hides over and tack the underside. Of course there were quite a few boards of differing sizes to fit different size hides. After several late night coon hunts, Don suggested I might want to consider buying my own coon hound - I agreed. The next thing you know I had a young coon hound that cost $250 when $250 dollars was a lot of money. Truly, at the time we couldn't afford $250 but being young and foolish...you know what I mean.
My young dog was totally untrained. I asked Don how was I to train her and he said to simply let her run with his hounds. Dear people, I want to tell you that in short order Daisy was leading the pack. Don said he'd never seen a dog more natural to coon hunting and so intelligent. I fell in love with Daisy. Deeply in love! I began to make my own stretch boards for the hides and selling the meat trying to recover Daisy's cost. I mentioned how smart she was but I didn't tell you that before long all I had to do was show her a particular size board and Daisy would find a coon to fit it. Life was grand. I also told you we almost split because of Daisy because, you see, one day Jeanette set the ironing board outside and I never seen Daisy since.

Of course, and they make me smile. If I think about some of them long enough though thoughts like 'man was I dumb,' or well I'd better not get into that one. It's just some are happy memories and some aren't.

Yea that's for sure thinking about do-overs can give you major headaches and make your blood pressure go up. When I start to go there I find something else to do.If I changed anything I wouldn't have my 3 sons and that is unacceptable they are my p***e and joy. Changing even one thing could change everything. The mistakes made will remain mistakes and a lesson learned
