Executive Order 13890 of October 3, 2019
Protecting and Improving Medicare for Our Nation's Seniors

You must switch your Medicare account over to a Medicare Advantage program prior this December 7, 2019 to gain access to a new Medical Savings Account in 2020:

Protecting and Improving Medicare for Our Nation's Seniors
Section 3:

Sec. 3. Providing More Plan Choices to Seniors. (a) Within 1 year of the date of this order, the Secretary shall propose a regulation and implement other administrative actions to enable the Medicare program to provide beneficiaries with more diverse and affordable plan choices. The proposed actions shall:

(i) encourage innovative MA [Medical Advantage HMOs] benefit structures and plan designs, including through changes in regulations and guidance that reduce barriers to obtaining Medicare Medical Savings Accounts and that promote innovations in supplemental benefits and telehealth services;

(ii) include a payment model that adjusts supplemental MA benefits to allow Medicare beneficiaries to share more directly in the savings from the program, including through cash or monetary rebates, thus creating more incentives to seek high-value care; and

(iii) ensure that, to the extent permitted by law, FFS Medicare is not advantaged or promoted over MA with respect to its administration.

Lonewolf, you are highly confused. Trump has not sold out to the insurance companies, just the opposite. The introduction of Medical Savings Accounts to Medicare Advantage plans will reintroduce consumer control over policies and prices in the medical marketplace.

As it stands today, ever since FDR's National Industrial Recovery Act in the New Deal, the health insurance industry was exempted from the anti-trust laws.

When the 1945 McCarran-Ferguson Act was passed, it recategorized the health insurance industry as a "for profit industry" instead of previously being a "non-profit industry."

Redefined as a "for profit industry," health insurance companies fell under the Interstate Commerce Clause.

The Interstate Commerce clause was originally designed to foment commerce and prosperity between the states, ending state tariffs and multiple currencies.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt reversed the purpose of the Interstate Commerce Clause to impede commerce, quarantining residents state by state, disallowing purchasing a better policy across state lines. This way, health insurance companies could bribe politicians with huge campaign contributions in exchange for both state and federal congresses to fix policies artificially wide and price them artificially high, the consumer and the poor be damned.

And you want more of this government regulation of your healthcare? Look at this track record since your wonderful socialist New Deal! The government does not love you.
