Absent the colorful hubris you are correct about Mayor Pete. Calm, self assured with well thought out centrist ideas that play neither to the the loony left or the rapacious right he should appeal to a lot of people tired of angry extremists.
That only leaves his lifestyle and for some that is too big to swallow (no pun intended).

I did encounter Tulsi Gabbard at a previous campaign event in Hawaii and I got the impression of a shrewd calculating person who is not who she says she is. Given her family background and her ambition she bears watching and not in a good way.
