Another win for the American people

A US appeals court ruled on Monday that Donald Trump’s accounting firm must turn over eight years of the president’s personal and corporate tax returns to New York prosecutors.

The ruling is the latest setback for the president, who has fought vigorously to block his accounting firm, Mazars USA, from releasing his tax returns to the Manhattan district attorney’s office.

The only thing clear is that President Trump will continue to appeal to the SCOTUS for determining the validity of legal actions against him.

It is actually fairly likely that SCOTUS will refuse to hear this, it is standing on very firm legal ground, there would be no reason to see it differently. That in itself will be a gut punch to Trump, who believes and has said cases will go before the court, we'll lose, they will be appealed, he'll lose, it will go before the supreme court and he'll win.

These cases that stand on such firm legal ground that have been ruled on, and appealed and upheld, have no business being taken up by a supreme court that would legislate against the law in such a partisan fashion. This case trying to block prosecution has so little merit that the attorneys should lose their licenses to practice law or work for the white house.

As an American "person", I don't see how this is a "win" for me. It doesn't affect, or change my life in any way, shape, or form.

The president must be getting tired of losing so many court cases, he has a record of losing more than any administration in history...winning 30% is certainly not indicating a strong history of winning.

It's a win for the rule of law, something real patriots consider a win for the country and it's people

Mine either. And its always enlightening when one presumes they are more of a “real” patriot than another.

What I’d like to know is why they want his IRS records from before he even ran for President. If there’s anything wrong on the records, I guess they’d arrest his accountant. This is government gone berserk with pure unadulterated hatred. The next act will be the arrest of every Republican except the RINOS. This is really frightening stuff. It’s like being in Havana when Castro marched in and your hands are tied behind your back.

All you c*******ts think you’re saving something. You’re not! You’re signing your own death warrant. Do you like your house? Well, it’s not yours anymore. That’s where you’re headed. You and all those like you. Like the mouse who saw free cheese and lost his freedom.

That might be true if "rule of law" was applied equally in this country.

A true patriot would demand that "rule of law" apply to everyone from the President down to the garbage man no matter what their political views are. You've got a lot of gall calling yourself a patriot in my opinion.

You just touched on something that really scratches my ass Carol.

These carping old women want to know everything Trump has done since his newborn lips first touched the nipple, but obvious corruption, and absolute lawlessness by their party of choice is off limits because it's in the past now, and we need to focus on Trump.

Sort of like real christians, some have no clue what it is to be a christian and others have the grace a dignity in how they treat people that they embody what it is.

I can tell you that no real patriot would support Trump withholding military aid to our ally the Ukraine against their enemy (ours by proxy), the Russians, who were attacking them.

I know that there is no such thing as real or f**e americans, you are either an american or you aren't, and who made you able to tell a difference? I personally feel that everyone born in this country to immigrants is a real american, and the arrogance and conceit of those who somehow think they are more real than others is moronic at best. Trump's use of separating people into a category of real americans supporting him is the exact same technique used by dictators and authoritarians throughout history. This is how division is fueled, by separating people into real americans and patriots based on supporting an i***t, and the alternative who must by that reasoning h**e the country.

The only people who use the word hatred are those who feel it, being against something does not mean you h**e it. Those who feel h**e generally have little control over the boundaries they will let their hatred be defined by. The people I know that h**ed Obama would have been glad to see him assassinated, and they openly admitted that.

I want Trump removed from office for many reasons, but mainly because the guy is capable of arriving at conclusions that are a danger to the country and world. It is comforting to know that a president relies on the advice of an array of people that know more and have more experience than he does. This guy calls dictators and makes spontaneous decisions based on their wishes...
I want him gone, and would never advocate assassination as a means to that end. People who h**e do not have that boundary.

Right there, you said it, a true patriot would hold the rule of law equally...you and those on the right are not adhering and holding to the rule of law where your party is concerned, because you say dems don's so why should we. It doesn't work like that. When you see a president obstructing investigations there are no lame justifications, obstruction is obstruction, and there is nothing that makes it different or okay.

Practice what you are preaching there bubba. If Obama had openly told Hillary not to cooperate and comply with any of the republican requests for hearings, let alone actual legal subpoenas, I would have supported the immediate articles of impeachment that the GOP would have dished out. And there would be no need for a senate trial when its that easy. Did he or did he not violate his oath to the constitution by telling Hillary not to comply with testifying...done, no song and dances about illegal impeachment hearings or that it's a witch hunt. Congress has the constitutional right to talk to whoever they want and get wh**ever information they want, no song and dances that have no legal merit.

It is the GOP that wants to muddle simple concepts and constitutional law with song and dance about procedural nothing burgers that have no legal merit. Trump has no legal right to tell anyone not to comply with subpoenas.
