The bands measure brain activity..

They don't alter it...

So a teacher or parent could potentially tell when a student isn't focusing...

I'm thinking about buying one..

I was just about to point that out. Sensory only.

My title is in reference to the attitudes of parents and teachers... Not the technology...

There is no change....

It simply allows teachers and parents to monitor their students/children...

An attentive teacher is probably capable without them... But not many of those these days...

I absolutely want one... Would love to monitor my brainwaves ..And my daughters...

Apologies had to reread since I've last been on, had gotten mixed up with another light theropy I as reading. You are correct... {teachers and parents can be informed if students are focused on their studies through different colors shown on the headbands.} With this said For me this speaks more to me of the teachers observing their students, sometimes getting focused on their lesson, they aren't looking to who is zoning out and maybe that has much to do with the teaching or the length time of the class. There are many issues in a class room. What will a teacher do when say five students headbands all light up one after the other, do they keep interrupting their course to direct attention to a student?

Again, I say, if you can't tell by looking at their face, into their eyes, you should seek a different line of work in the first place.

Exactly

There is a bit of a controversy over here...

Agreed, too bad so many don't take the conscious time to do so.

Where is that, not in the US.

I could see them using tools as these to help people with mental dysfunctions, and then lets see how that goes, but it sounds like more foreign means allowing others to manipulate peoples brains, with all that's going on now, how can this come close to being trusted?

Teachers can learn better teaching techniques without invasive mind-altering headbands, jmo. We always seem to put the cart before the horse in our exuberance of "new" technology. What are the possible long term effects?

Some of the countries with some of the world’s highest achieving student bodies — like Korea and Japan — have the biggest class sizes.

They are doing something we(US) should be doing, why is this so hard to do? Shorter class time has been proven to be more effective, even shorter than 40 min, definitely not 90 min which is what we have going on here in some states, ridiculous.

It may also be noted that CD is a conscientious person, somewhat open minded and geographically adventurous. He may have the basics down and be shooting for excellence.

In which case...

Doctors will wheel tests like it's free candy, and it sure as hell isn't.

I don't understand the excitement over this. In this Country, the teachers in our state indoctrination centers have been foisting their l*****t opinions on minds of children for many years.

It is up the parents to counter this. Take an interest in your kids' school, KNOW what they
are being taught and correct anything that is counter to what YOU believe. Examine their textbooks
and go over the test papers with them. If they take a test and don't bring the paper home, ask for it.
Teachers are known to withhold the test papers intentionally. GO to the school and demand them.
