I am a Catholic. I believe the priest who denied Biden communion was in the wrong. I knew of a priest who denied some people I know very well communion and in fact they were communion servers---Why? because he found out that their son was gay. The arch diocese straightened that out. Joe Biden is wise to not comment. Years ago there were Catholics who pushed for John Kerry to be excommunicated for the same reason as was Biden before Obama was elected. The reason is purely political as both men were attacked when they were running for president.

It's a tough call to make.. And politics should not play a part in faith... But the Church does have the right to deny communion to those who t***sgress...

Hope you have been well... Haven't seen you for a while

I think according to Catholic doctrine his support of a******n is a viable reason for this priest to refuse him communion. Using politics as an excuse is a lie or a conflict. How can you stand for no a******n but then advocate for it? We elect people to follow their conscience I hope.

I'm in total agreement with you. --- I have been well--working like mad while the weather is sunny. We have about 10 more days of sunshine ahead of us here.

As a Catholic one is supposed to be against a******n and also against birth control.. Few Catholics bide by the no birth control edict. those that do have several children and it is easy to spot those who don't. An elected official represents all of the people and cannot be biased in his political opinions being influenced by religious edict. It is not fair to all people of different faiths and origins to
force conformity upon them when we are supposed to be a free country.

Why would that make us down on Catholics? I was denied communion at my father's funeral. The priest was a prick, so what? I didn't take it out on the Church. The only Christians that we are down on are the faux Christians on the right made up mostly of Evangelical fundamentalists. You know the ones who claim to be part of the moral majority yet they v**e for an immoral president like Trump simply because it was politically expedient or like those who claim to LOOOOVE Jesus all while they piss all over the poor and anyone else who they think might want to get into their pockets. Those are the ones we are down on not Catholics and certainly not the Church which is headed by one of our best Popes yet.

And when did Biden say he supported a******n? You assume that because we respect a woman's right to make her own choice that we support the choice that she makes. That's not necessarily the case but it's a better choice than having the state control her body all for the purpose of delivering a baby that nobody wants.

The Holy Communion is not political. It is one of the 7 Sacraments how to be a Catholic. Here they are:
Baptism.
Eucharist, or Holy Communion
Confirmation.
Reconciliation.
Anointing of the sick.
Marriage.
Holy orders.
Holy Communion is a covenant with Christ. This is what he did before he died.
A new covenant with his apostles and all his people.

https://biblehub.com/matthew/26-28.htm

I am surprised you claim to be a Catholic but does not know that the Holy Communion is a Sacrament and must be followed. Did you take the CCD? Confraternity of Catholic Doctrine during young?
The Orthodox Church are allowed the Holy communion, and the Presbyterians, and Methodists.

The following not allowed the Holy Communion.
Not baptised as Catholics.
Not taken the Sacrament of confirmation. Not married in the Catholic Church.
Divorced, and re-married but not in the Catholic Church.
Supporters of a******n and living with another man while not married. All these of course could not be enforced to all since many of them don't confess anymore, and the priests would not know that.

Ok.. If I was gonna be "rigid" in rules... A******n=Murder!~Gay or other derivatives of sexual orientation... a LIFE choice NOT a race, creed color or religion...and against God's LAW Period.. refer to the 10 commandments... as well as Sodomn and Gamora... If you go by this premise the priest was well within his rights to not offer communion to anyone that believes that A******n is condoned in what ever form, be it w/in the first few weeks and Definitely, Late term heart beat a******n.. But then I am not happy with the Catholic church and haven't been since my grandmother, a devout Irish Catholic was excommunicated from the church for divorcing a man that slit her throat and leave her for dead!! I have Zero love for a SECT of Christianity that took out several books of the ORIGINAL text of the bible....

One can look at the bible a few ways... 1) A book written By Men For Men..
2) BIBLE= Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth... Religion in my humble opinion has ALWAYS been to control the great unwashed... CONTROL!!!...

I had a boss once, a Mormon, that told me I HAD to get on my "prayer bones" and pray and let the congregation "Witness" my conversation with my Father... I told him NO I did NOT have to do that, and in fact my conversations with my Father were private between him and I... as far as steppin inside a church, I do NOT feel the need!!.. I do Not need a House made by men to worship, celebrate or pray to my Father.. He is all around me everyday in everything! Period!

The Protestants removed books..

Not the Catholics...

We agree concerning how religion is most commonly used..

The priest actually saved him from adding another “mortal (deadly) soul k*****g sin” to his soul. If he achieves salvation, it might reduce his sentence in purgatory by a few years. But then again, what’s it like to take a few years off the 10000 year sentence he has likely already acquired. Perhaps, he thinks God will commute his sentence in Purgatory if he practices good behavior. Doesn’t work that way. He will need some outside help.

If I were Joe Biden, I’d dust off my rosary and pray the rosary ten times a day to reduce my sentence or find others who are willing to do so after you pass. When your gone, Only those alive in body and spirit can pray for the dead. Maybe Obama will clean up his act and step up to the plate to assist! Wouldn’t bet on it!

OK, Einstein, listen up. We don't care a fiddler's f**k what a woman does to her own body. It's the tiny body inside her that we don't want torn apart. Get it?
