A state run by the most environMENTAL Wackos in the 57 states, seems to always be burning. I would think their environmental policies could stop this. Can't windmills and solar cells solve this ? Can't they take up the slack when the grid goes down ?

They keep burning for several reasons biggest they are horrible forest stewards. They have stopped keeping their forest free of underbrush and stopped any clearing old /dead trees. Fire is nature's way of cleaning and some tree seeds need fire to open even the governor admitted this after the last fire. They stopped to save an owl I hope the owl moved or it is now a crispy critter

Because they are bound and determined to both embrace, and defeat, Mother Nature; simultaneously.

Kind of like trying to "hug" a Grizzly Bear to death.

Having done a lot of hiking and camping in different parts of California, I can vouch for that.

Their environmental policies dictate that this state's forests remain fire traps, full of fuel to guarantee healthy fires.

I'm not sure the fires in Cali are caused by the environMENTAL wackos. Having survived the Tubbs fire in Santa Rosa in 2017 (which destroyed over 5,000 homes) unscathed, I'm now going through it all over again. Except this time my 26 year old son is having to be responsible for my home in downtown Santa Rosa (some parts of which are under mandatory evacuation), and my farm on the outskirts of Windsor (which IS under mandatory evacuation), because I'm aboard my catamaran anchored out in Sausalito, just north of SF, riding out extremely high winds.
This entire area has had no electricity since yesterday meaning homeowners can't hose down their home if the fire is approaching, since electric pumps would have no power. Not that it would much good. You really have to witness the force of these winds first hand to appreciate that Mother Nature is in charge - totally! As bad as Cali's Dem government is in other areas, this one is hard to blame on Dem policies.
PG&E's lines are said to have caused the Kincaid fire. With the force of these winds, power lines come into contact with branches and start fires. Last year, PG&E cut down 2 massive oaks on my farm cuz they were in proximity to power lines.
It's a phenomenon of nature that we have these winds here at this time every year and woe be to anyone in the path of any fire that starts during these conditions.

Power outages and fires seem to be becoming standard practice in your state. If I lived there I would have back up generators and lots and lots of f****l f**l.

Power outages don't bother me. I've got generators. Besides, living part time on my catamaran which is anchored out in SF bay has taught me to live off the grid entirely.
But there's nothing you can do about the winds. Despite what the c*****e c****e advocates wanna say about everything bad being caused by an infinitesimal increase in CO2 (up from 0.04%).

My son just told me the wind knocked down a tree on my farm allowing all the livestock to get out. So he's gotta round them up, and repair the fence temporarily, until I can return after riding out the winds in SF bay.

There's little than can be done about these winds. Changing my incandescent light bulb to an LED ain't gonna change anything.

Well there you go. If these winds are so prevalent, your farm looks like a great candidate for lots and lots of guvment sponsored wind turbines.

That's the only thing healthy about California at this time. Watched a video of the farmers pumping so much water out of the table water that a lot of the land is sinking at an astonishing rate

For much of the country though wind turbine are not feasible due to low wind or nor no wind and large acreage for solar is not good for rainy or foggy parts of the country so they are not one size fits all many place that had turbines are now sitting rusting due to high price for upkeep or they are not working like they need to they produce the power needed to make them viable so keep your thinking caps on we havent found the right fit yet

I was being sarcastic. Green power is not economic or environmentally friendly. It is very politically friendly for Democrats because so many of their followers are brain dead stupid. Ten miles from my house there is a large wind turbine. For over ten years I have rarely seen it turning.

I don’t think so! These winds are a once a year event. Besides, I don’t think people around here would approve of unsightly wind farms. You know, NIMBY.

Since when did your Governor care about the locals ? Your betters who run the state know better.

You gotta be kidding me!!! Gov Newsome ain’t gonna put up unsightly wind farms around SF or it’s environs. Altamont is as close as they’ll come. Homeless people defacating all over the streets of SF is all ok but not wind farms. Never in a hundred years!
